📍Serenity and Sekanis Apartment
Sekani groggily rolled out of the bed before realizing Serenity wasn't next to him. Before he could worry he smelt breakfast food being made and knew he could find her in the kitchen.
Sekani finished up his hygiene routine before heading downstairs to see Serenity.
"Good morning Phats."
"Good morning baby. Breakfast is ready." She smiled at him before placing down his plate.
"Thank you baby." He kissed her before beginning to eat alongside her.
Serenity had always been a great cook and it was something she loved doing for the people she loved.
"You have to work today?" He asked.
"Yeah, a short shift though. 12-6."
"Bet. I think im'a go see Shooter later."
"Okay baby. Be safe." She got up to clean before he stopped her.
"I got it Phats."
"You sure papa? I don't mind."
"Yeah baby. Thank you for breakfast though, it was really good."
"Of course my love. Im gonna go get ready." She kissed him again before heading upstairs.
After taking a quick shower and brushing her teeth again she quickly threw on her pink scrubs and pink crocs.
Serenity was never the type to wear a full face. Instead she brushed out her lashes, applied some lipgloss, and a little concealer on her face before starting on her hair.
Deciding on a slick ponytail she quickly tied it up and proceeded to grab her work bag before heading to his man cave to say goodbye.
"I'm leaving now papa. I love you. Be safe and please stay out of trouble."
"Everything gonna be fine baby. I love you shorty." He kissed her lips and cheeks before walking her out to the car and sending her off.
She was beyond worried. Since he's been home they haven't been apart but now she was leaving him again.
Last time he was alone he ended up in trouble and gone for three years.
After getting himself dressed in a black Nike sweatsuit and some jordans. Sekani quickly headed out the door to meet up with his friend Shooter.
Before he could make it to the elevator he was stopped by a voice.
"So you're back and y'all just all good now?" The voice spoke out. He had to assume this was Jayden.
"Don't worry about us." Was all he said before making his way to the elevator again.
He had promised Serenity he'd stay out of trouble and as badly as he wanted to fight Jayden, he was going to do his best to keep it moving.
After about a 30 minute drive, Sekani was now walking up to Shooters door.
"Yo Z! When did you get out?"
"A few days ago man." He laughed at his shocked face.
"You been straight?"
"Fasho. I just had to come say wassup."
"Come in Man."
Walking into the house Sekani was instantly greeted by his niece Jayla.
"Uncle K!" She shouted beyond excited to see him.
"Wassup Niecey. You okay?"
"I am. Play with me?"
"Go get yo toys mama." He put her down and allowed her to run up to her room and grab whatever toys she wanted.
"She be asking bout you." Shooter spoke as he joined him in the living room.
"That's my niece and she know it." He laughed.
"How's it going with her moms?" He questioned.
"It's alright. We really just co parent now, I've been messing with someone new."
"That's wassup G. Happy for you."
Before they could finished their conversation Jayla had came back down stairs with toys and they played for about two hours before Sekani decided to surprise Serenity with lunch at work.
Grabbing the both of them Chick-Fil-A and her some flowers he quickly made it to the pediatric office.
"Hello, do you have an appointment?" That lady at the front desk spoke.
"No, I'm looking for my wife her name is Serenity."
"Ah Nurse Serenity. I'll page her."
"Thank you." He stood off to the side while she did as she said she would and waited for Serenity to come out.
"Aw papa. Thank you so much sweet boy." She kissed him.
"You welcome baby. Come on."
He led her towards the car before they both got in and ate lunch while talking for her entire hour lunch break.
