Thanksgiving Day
📍Serenity's Family Home.
"Hey Mama!" Serenity shouted as she came through her mothers door.
"Hi my baby." Her mother greeted her back before continuing to cook.
"Wassup sis." Her younger brother Isaiah spoke as he hugged her.
"Hi Zay. Will you come help me with the food in my car?"
"Yeah. What you make? You better say you got Mac."
"I made mac, collard greens, and some ham for mama."
"Shit sound fyeee." He dragged out before grabbing two trays of food.
"Thank you for the help Zay Zay."
"Ma, where's daddy?"
"In the backyard grilling."
"Bet." Serenity proceeded to make her way outside only to find her dad grilling and her youngest sister Amiah bossing her dad around.
"Daddy. You have to push me." The little girl spoke with her hand on her hip.
"I'm grilling Miah. Use the slide." The little girl huffed before running off.
"Hi daddy." Serenity laughed as she approached him.
"There's my baby! How are you Ren? You okay?"
"I'm okay daddy. You?"
"I'm good baby girl."
"Renny!!!" Her younger sister shouted once she saw her.
"Hi MiMi, I've missed you baby sis."
"I miss you." She pouted at her before dragging her towards the swing set.
An Hour Later
After awhile Serenity was growing hungry and ready to eat so she went inside only to find Sekanis mother, grandmother, and aunt. Yet still no Arianna.
"Hi Mama Faye." She smiled before immediately being brought into hug.
"My favorite daughter." His mother smiled at her before once again hugging her.
"Now mama, you know how Ari would be mad if she heard you." She laughed.
"With that attitude, she'll be alright."
"Hi Gran. How are you?" She also hugged his grandmother before turning to acknowledge his aunt.
"Hi Ms.Banks." She smiled politely at her knowing the tension between the two was typically thick.
Unfortunately, his aunt didn't believe Serenity was right for him however he didn't care what anyone thought. That was his soulmate and he knew it.
Before she could respond Ariannas voice could be heard from the doorway.
"Ren!"
"Yes Ari?" She laughed at her clear sense of being late.
"Will you get the last pumpkin pie out my trunk?"
"Sure." She went to do as asked.
Walking down the driveway Serenity could see Ari's trunk open and went to grab the pie before a voice quickly caught her attention.
"Wassup Phats."
Knowing he was the only person who still referred to her by her childhood nickname she quickly turned around to see him.
"Sekani!!" She shouted as she ran to him and he immediately picked her up.
Instantly, tears began to flow down her face she was just so happy to have him home.
"My baby." She cried as he held her and allowed her to scan over his entire face and body.
"It's me Phats."
"I've missed you so much Papa. Don't ever leave again."
"I'm not baby. I got us."
"How did you get out?"
"Good behavior."
"Ugh I'm so glad. I've missed you so much."
"I missed you more Phats."
He quickly grabbed her face and pulled her in for a kiss and she quickly added tongue while still trying to not go too far.
"Y'all come and eat!" She could her Ari shouting from the doorway.
Serenity quickly pulled away before giving him another hug. When she tried to let go, Sekani grabbed her hand and allowed her to lead him inside.
"Wassup y'all." He spoke to everyone.
Everyone knew the surprise for Serenity and had seen Sekani the day before.
"Im so glad your home baby."
"Im just happy to be with you." He smiled at her.
Everything was going to change for the two now and the both of them were more than ready.
