December 3rd, 2023 📍 The Pediatricians Office
"Hi Jay! How are you feeling today honey?"
"I'm okay. I like your outfit Nurse Ren."
"Thank you baby."
Today Serenity wore some Spiderman Scrubs along with her Spiderman Crocs. She knew the kids would love this one but especially Jayden and since today was treatment day for him she figured she'd pull out one of his favorites. She hoped this would help make things a little less scary for the boy.
"Your welcome. Is todays treatment long?"
"I don't know honey. Is there anything you need before you go in?"
"A hug." The little boy pouted instantly melting her heart.
Serenity gave Jay a hug before helping him set up his iPad so that Spidey would be playing and he could watch while getting his treatment.
"I'll come check on you after treatment, okay?"
"Okay. See you." He waved bye before she left the room.
"How is he?" Jays mother asked as she came into view clearly exhausted.
"He's okay. He's watching Spiderman for now."
"Thank you so much Serenity."
"Of course."
Serenity often felt bad for the younger mother. Her sons treatments were often very rough yet she still made sure Jay was loved and well taken care of.
Instead of dwelling for too long Serenity pulled out her phone to see texts from Sekani.

She loved the way he always made sure she ate and took care of her. She was ready to get off and be under her man any minute now.
"Nurse Serenity!" A little girl named Lauren beamed as she saw her favorite nurse.
"Hi pretty girl!" Serenity put away her phone before continuing to talk with the younger girl.
"Hi! I've missed you!"
"I missed you! You ready to go back to the room?"
"Yup!" She waved bye to her mom before following Serenity to the back room.
"Okay love. Climb up and let me check on ya."
Lauren did as asked and allowed Serenity to get her temperature, blood pressure, look in her eyes and ears, and she checked her reflexes.
"Looks good Lolo. I'll send in Dr.Nash okay?"
"Okay! My mommy come back now?"
"Yes. Is that okay?"
"Yeah!"
"Okay love. I'll see you before you leave with your sticker and lollipop." She smiled at her excitement before leaving the room.
"Excuse me, Dr.Nash."
"Yes?"
"Lauren is in room 3A and ready. No fever, blood pressure was good, eyes and ears were clear, and reflexes looked good."
"Okay thank you. You can send her mother back."
"Will do."
Serenity showed her mother to her room before finding Alyssa in the storage closet.
"This is you working?" Serenity questioned as Alyssa was clearly only in here to be texting.
"Girl I gotta text my man." She laughed.
"I hear that." She laughed before grabbing a sticker and lollipop for Lauren as promised.
"How's things with him being home going?"
"Really good. I love having him home again."
"I'm happy that your happy friendddd."
"Thanks boo. Find me before you leave later!" She called out as she left the room.
"DoorDash for Phats." She could a hear a man speak to the office lady.
"No one named Phats works here Sir."
"I'm sorry, that's for me. My boyfriend acts like he can never use my name. Thank you sir." She handed him a $10 tip although he'd already been tipped by Sekani and grabbed her food.
Opening the bag she saw her favorite Chipotle order and instantly her mouth watered.
She was ready to tear up this food but first she had to drop off Lauren's lollipop and Sticker.
