Chapter 35

Buendavid

I stopped the car when I finally reached the gate of the mansion. I immediately got inside and I was welcomed by a familiar surrounding. It's been a long time since the last time I visited here, yet not much has changed. I have many gruesome memories in this place. Nevertheless, this has become our refuge when things became hectic to handle, just like the happenings now.

I already want to marry Bel as soon as possible. But with the neverending demand of my work and the still unresolved mystery of Dr. Lao's disappearance, I can't make a fine move for our wedding. I want it to be perfect. At hindi 'yon mangyayari kung marami pang bagay ang nagpapabagabag sa amin.

Isang linggo na ang nakalipas simula nang malaman kong buntis si Bel. At isang linggo na rin akong praning para sa kaligtasan niya. I feel that something is off. That we are forgetting a very important thing.

"Hoy! Baka nakalimutan mong may kasama ka!" Napalingon ako sa kasama ko na si Henrick. Nakasunod lang pala siya sa akin. Hindi ko na siya napigilan sa kagustuhan niya na sumama sa akin ngayon. Anyway, he is directly involved in the situation too.

"If I were you, I'll shut my mouth. This place is not a wonderland." I smirk making him confused, but he just turned silent afterwards. Though, I'm not kidding. This place might seem normal, but this is one of the most guarded places I know.

Tulad ko ay hindi rin mapakali si Henrick sa pagkawala ni Dr. Lao. Hindi rin kami kumbinsido sa statement niya noon sa amin.  At ang pag-uusap namin kay Stella ay hanggang ngayon ay palaisipan pa rin sa amin. She might be crazy, but her thoughts are related to what she experienced. And it's as if... she's also a victim somehow.

I decided to keep anything about Dr. Lao from Bel because this might keep her unsettled. Now that she's pregnant with our baby, she must be taken care of to the fullest, and that includes eliminating every single thing that might stress her out.

Narinig kong napasinghap si Henrick nang biglang may sumulpot na dalawang armadong lalaki at walang pag-aalinlangang tinutukan kami ng baril. The party finally begins.

"What's the meaning of this?" Hindi maitago ni Henrick ang takot niya.

"Easy, fellow." Pumagitna na ako bago pa may mangyaring masama. "I'm here to talk to your boss."

"Wala kaming pakialam kung isang kang Villasuarez. Nasa batas namin na walang civilian na makakapasok dito," sagot ng isa patukoy kay Henrick.

"Oh him? Well, he just worked under me. He's my underling now."

"Hoy gago! Anong pinagsasab-- Ah. Sabi ko nga. Tauhan na ako ni Sir Buendavid," pagsanggayon ni Henrick nang kasahin ng dalawang lalaki ang baril nila. They're deadly serious. Well, they have to.

Lahat kami ay napatingin sa pinto nang bigla itong bumukas at lumabas ang isang pamilyar na pigura. Mahigit isang taon na rin simula noong huli kaming nagkita.

"It's been ages, Buendavid. Nothing has changed. You're still as dashing as ever." Napatingin siya kay Henrick. "And who is this delectable piece of meat?" He even licked his lower lip.

"Yeah. Nothing has changed. Ang landi mo pa rin," sagot ko na ikinatawa niya lang.

"Whatever." He rolled his eyes. "Come in. I think we have something to discuss."

As if on cue, the two men lowered their guns and lead us the way. We finally got inside and sat on the couch available.

"Just make yourselves comfortable, gentlemen. I'll just get my stuff."

"Is he... gay?" bulong sa akin ni Henrick na ikinangisi ko. Hindi na ako nagsalita at tumango na lang.

He's Mavis Sasaki, the current boss of Primordial. The Primordial is the secret service created by the founder of Villasuarez Empire, my grandfather. Binubuo ito ng mga elite na hukbo na nakatalaga para pangalagaan ang katayuan ng Villasuarez. They only acknowledge a Villasuarez blood, but they can act on their own. What they are more concerned about is the sustainability and progress of the empire. They can even eliminate a Villasuarez if the need arises. Wala silang sinasanto kung kapakanan ng Empire ang nalalagay sa alanganin. Wala silang kinakatakutan. Handa silang mamatay para sa Empire at mas lalong handa silang pumatay.
