(Y/N)'s POV

She softly slept in the passenger seat of my car. It's been a few days of having her stay in my house. Now that she had somewhere that she could stay, she looked much better.

Her hair is nice and neat, without a single tangle in sight. Sleeping is something she could now do comfortably in a bed every night. I'm happy that I could make Cynthia's lifestyle more comfortable.

I drove as slowly as possible so as not to disturb her rest. The trees sat still without the wind to make them sing their tune. Sunlight beamed into the car, almost blinding me, but I managed

I took a back road to get to my house, so no one saw Cynthia as much in the sun. Her skin may have not sparkled like Edward and his family's would, but I didn't want to put anything up to chance. There is a difference to her skin, and I didn't want to find out what normal people would do about her being different.

From what I heard from the Cullen's, being a vampire and others knowing could cause serious danger. They would never tell me what the danger is, like an inside secret.  I only assumed the worst that they would get killed somehow by an angry mob or a higher power.

Either way, my lips are sealed. I would not tell a single soul what I know, even if they tried to force it out of me. Cynthia is like a daughter to me despite her only being three years younger than me, but that didn't matter to me.

Edward is also my boyfriend, and I didn't want to risk him or his family. I would feel awful to put his family in Jeopardy and chaos. No matter the punishment, I will be sure that I would never risk outing them at all.

"Cynthia?" I pulled into the driveway. The car's engine rumbled to a stop. "We're home. Could you wake up, please?" I gently shook her shoulder; it felt like touching hot coals, but I didn't mind.

"Hmm," she only hummed, her acknowledgment of me trying to wake her. Now that she didn't have to have a survival of the fittest mindset anymore, she's a heavier sleeper than before.

I could drop a pin on the floor, and she would bolt out of bed to investigate. But it didn't take long before she couldn't care less and slept harder than the dead. If I succeeded, she would fall right back to sleep before I could say a word.

"Cynthia, we're home now. Could you wake up, please?" I shook her shoulder a little more roughly.

She slowly opened her eyes and sat up in her seat. Her eyes sleepily took in her surroundings. "Oh? We are," The driveway got more and more recognizable as she woke up some more.

"Come on now, Cynthia." I took my keys out and got out of my car. Gravel crunched under my shoes, and the car door closed with a thunk. She followed suit before coming around to my side of the car.

The screen door slammed open with a loud creak. It snapped my attention away from Cynthia. Edward stood in the doorway. He looked so disheveled.

My house's light seeped out from behind him. His face got illuminated by my car's headlights. He stumbled down my porch steps like a drunk.

His hair is disheveled like he had run his fingers through it a million times. A button or two had been open at the top. Wrinkles covered his whole shirt.

If he were able to sleep, it looked like he hadn't gotten any in days. He didn't look so good. Not good at all; he even looked like he's pissed off.

After his initial stumble and shock, he sauntered over to me with anger in his eyes. I started to come over to him.

He sped up to stand in front of me. My heart jumped, and my soul almost left my body like a rocket. "Edward!" I stumbled back.

He looked absolutely devastated and heartbroken. His eyes searched mine. "Who is she? What are you doing with her?" He yelled in my face.

"She's Cynthia, and she lives here in my house." I hyperventilated and stumbled on my words. I felt stunned by his sudden outburst.

"Have you been cheating on me?" He glared as if he'd been physically pained. My words didn't seem to go well by him. He bared his teeth at me, and he clenched them at the sound of my words.

Cynthia joined the argument by my side. Her hot hands clutched my shoulders; she peered at him from behind me. She bared her teeth at him and hissed at him.

I felt her pulling me behind her. She acted like a barricade from a jealous boyfriend. A growl rumbled from her chest at him. It's like she reverted back to her old ways in that forest.

"Alright, alright! I don't have feelings for Cynthia at all like that! She's like a daughter to me, and she's 15!" I pulled her back behind me, and I faced Edward on.

Edward still kept a glare on me. He slowly closed my mouth and looked at me in shock. "She's not?" He cut himself off.

"She isn't a girlfriend or anything. I love her like a parent. We have a parent and daughter relationship, Edward." I tried to reassure him.

I lightly pressed a hand against his chest. "Don't worry about me cheating. I love you. I wouldn't cheat on you, Edward. You need to calm down."

He stopped glaring and looked between me and Cynthia.

"I'm going to bring Cynthia into the house. You just calm down or something." I gently held her forearm as I addressed Edward. Cynthia and I came up with to the porch steps and into the house.

He didn't wait long and followed behind us inside. Jealousy
