Break Up

(Chiron decides to add a new rule at camp, no one's pleased by it or even follows it.)

~Nico POV~

All the head counselors talked amongst themselves as we waited for Chiron and Mr. D.

Will ignored me while I messed with him. Dumb choice. Only makes me annoy much more. I played with his hair, poked his cheeks, grabbed his nose, and squeezed his bicep.

"You have nice biceps." I noted. "I can't get my hands around it...you have big arms in general. Strong arms."

I squeezed different parts of his arms. He chuckled and watched me. Eventually I just stopped trying to annoy him and just hugged his arm, running my fingers over his muscles. My boyfriend leaned down and kissed me.

"Done with annoying me?" He asked.

I nodded. He smiled at me.

"You're in a weird mood today." He noted. "Extra attention wanting."

I shrugged.

"I just want my boyfriend's undivided attention." I replied. "Is that so bad?"

"No." He said. "You're really adorable when you're being needy."

"Maybe I should be needy more often." I said.

"Please don't." He said.

"Okay." I jokingly sighed.

He nuzzled my cheek and kissed my lips, satisfying my need for his attention.

Someone, Chiron, clopped into the room with Mr. D, who was very upset, behind him. Chiron cleared his throat and everyone brought their attention to him.

"Don't get mad at me, I said this was a terrible idea." Mr. D said. "it's all Chiron's idea."

A knot formed in my stomach.

"We will be instating a new rule regarding head counselors due to complaints from our last capture the flag game." Chiron said. "Head counselors will no longer be allowed to date each other."

Every head counselor protested and shouted. The room roared with insults, claims, and rude names for centaurs. Can't say I was calling Chiron anything nice. He stomped his hooves.

"Silence! Those of you already dating another counselor have until the end of the day. If you have not separated, you'll be stripped of your title and it'll be given to someone else." He said.

"Dad-". Pullox started.

"It's all his idea. I don't care in the slightest who dates who." Mr. D replied.

"This is cruel. Some of us only found happiness after finding a lover. Can't you just add a rule that says counselors can't team with the counselor they're dating?" I asked. "At least then we'd still have an ounce of respect left for you, Chiron."

The centaur looked greatly offended.

"Di Angelo's right." Piper said.

"My decision is final!" Chiron snapped. "Dismissed!"

Then he left. The room fell quiet. Some counselors cried, others just sat in stunned silence. To be honest, I wanted to cry. Losing my title means nothing to me but Will losing his would be the worst! He loves being a counselor and being head medic. He can't lose those because of me! I wouldn't be able to live with myself!

I hadn't even noticed I'd lost my grip on Will's arm until he pulled on his lap and into a hug.

"You okay, Darling?" He asked.
