{A Week And A Half Later}

~Nico POV~

'I have a day off today, wanna come pegasus riding with me?' Will signed. 'You need to get out of the cabin and get some fresh air, feel the sun on your face. It can even be a date.'

I hesitated.

'A date?' I asked.

'Yes, a date.' He answered. 'We haven't had one since you know what.'

He pointed to my ears. I covered them and looked down. He tapped my shoulder and I looked up.

'Are you okay?' Will asked.

'sad' I signed.

'I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to make you feel bad' he replied.

He kissed me forehead.

'I know things are difficult right now' he explained. 'We don't know when or if things will go back to normal so I was just trying to cheer you up.'

I nodded and leaned against him.

'I'll come pegasus riding with you' I signed. 'A date may be exactly what I need.'

'Well then get dressed' he told me. 'You can't ride in your pajamas. Maybe shower. You stink.'

'Rude' I signed.

'Just go' he replied.

{About 45 Minutes Later}

I shielded my eyes from the sun as Will and I stepped out of cabin 13.

'So bright' I signed.

'Obviously. It's daytime' Will replied.

I rolled my eyes and Will pecked my cheek.

'You and unnecessary affection' I signed.

'You're my boyfriend, of course I'm giving you unnecessary affection' he replied.

He grabbed my hand and led me to the stables. A blond girl and a black-haired guy were there too, I think they were arguing. They spotted us and started talking. Will looked like he replied. I looked at the ground. Maybe a few minutes later, Will tugged my hand and I looked up. Annabeth and Percy were gone so Will and I were alone again.

A pegasus came over and nudged Will's face. He looked to laugh as he pet the pegasus's snout. I felt so much worse. Will noticed immediately.

'Something wrong?' he asked.

'I miss your laugh' I answered.

He frowned then smirked and kissed my cheek a bunch. After a minute he stopped and said something to the pegasus.

'I forgot something in my cabin, I'll be back in a second' Will signed. 'Stay here, don't do anything dumb.'

I rolled my eyes.

'Be quick or I can't promise I won't go take a nap' I replied.

'Okay, okay' he signed.

He kissed me then dashed off. I watched him run out of the stables then looked back at the pegasus. It turned its head away from me and bucked, kicking its front legs off the ground. Animals, magical or not, don't like me. The pegasus brought its hooves down hard, hitting my arm and causing me to fall to the ground.
