Twenty First Shot

The one week vacation of Von and Kershia in Cambodia went by too fast. When they came back in Manila, their friends and Von's fans bombarded them with questions like when will be the wedding, where it will be held, why they suddenly want to get married and all the likes.

"You're getting fat." Von commented as he watches Kershia eats her favorite cake.
Kershia stared at him for few seconds and tears suddenly fell from her eyes, "You don't love me anymore because I'm getting fat."
Von rushed to her side and wiped her tears using his thumb, "That's not what I meant. Of course I still love you. I don't care if you are as fat as fat amy."
"You don't love me anymore..." Kershia said in between her sobs, "I hate you!"
"Why are you so being emotional these past few months, bubbah?" Von asked her, "You're not like that. I always call you fat, annoying girl and stuff but you never get mad at me and you never thought of that thing. What's with you? You're scaring me."
"And now I'm scaring you..." Kershia said sarcastically, "You can leave now!"
Von shook his head, "C'mon Kersh, stop being a brat. Let's talk about it. Ang aga aga mag-aaway tayo."

Kershia suddenly felt dizzy and she felt like vomitting. She rushed to the comfort room and started throwing up. Von followed her, he tied her hair and patted her back.

"Are you okay?" Von asked her worriedly, "What did you eat last night?"

After vomitting, Kershia gargled then she washed her face and hugged her boyfriend.

"I've been feeling this for few weeks now." She said.
"Why don't we go to the hospital?" Von replied, "You must be sick."
"No, I'm fine." Kershia protested.

Von felt like a bucket of ice has been thrown to him when he realized something.

"We really need to see a doctor." Von said with a smile on his face, "I think we are going to be parents soon."
Kershia's eyes widened upon hearing those words, "What? What are you talking about?!"
"When was the last time you had your period?" Von asked.
Kershia tried to recall it, "Two months ago." then she suddenly covered her mouth, "Oh my god!"
"There must be a blessing inside your tummy now." Von said in glee, "Go fix yourself and we'll see a doctor."

Kershia took a bath and fixed herself then they headed to the nearest hospital in their house, Von was thankful because her mom's friend is one of the OB-Gynes who's on duty.

"What brings you here?" Dra. Ramirez asked Von, she was surprised to see him in her clinic.
Von smiled, "I'm with my fiancee, tita." Von replied, "I want her checked, I think we'll be having a baby. By the way, this Kershia, my fiancee."
Kershia extended her hand for a handshake, "Kershia Marquez, Dra." Dra. Ramirez gladly took her hand and shook it, "It's nice meeting you, Kershia."

After the introduction and stuff, Dra. Ramirez checked Kershia and she happily announced to Von and Kershia that she is 5 weeks pregnant. Kershia couldn't believe the news that she just heard, she wanted to be happy because she's carrying Von's child but there's a little part in her that wanted to be sad because she's not ready yet to be a mom. But nevertheless, she can't wait to see their baby.

"Let's get married as soon as possible, Bubbah." Von said as soon as they got into the car, "I don't want my baby to be born in this world out of wedluck."
"Likewise." Kershia said simply, "How about next month? Ayoko ng malaki yung tiyan ko pag kinasal tayo."
"I'm fine with that." Von replied without looking at her, his eyes were glued on the road, "I'll tell mom the good news later. I'm really excited to see him/her."
Kershia sighed heavily, "I don't know how will I tell my parents about this."
Von glanced at her, "We'll tell them." He corrected her.
"I'm afraid that they'll be mad at me." Kershia said in a sad tone, "Von, help me ha?"
"Of course, I will help you tell them your situation." Von reassured her, "We'll invite your parents and we'll talk about it over dinner, with my parents."
Kershia smiled, "Thank you, bubbah! I love you."
