Eighteenth Shot

Von woke up to the sunrays beaming through his window. He slowly opened his eyes and found Kershia sleeping soundly beside him. He turned to his side to hug her but he got shocked when his bare hands touched her chest. He looked under the blanket and he was bewildered to see them both undressed.

"Shit!" he blurted out, "What the eff did you do last night, Von Rolfe?!"

"I'm so sorry, my princess." he whispered to her, "I didn't mean to take advantage of you."

Von was running his fingers through her hair, he was startled when Kershia suddenly woke up.

"G-good mo-morning." he stammered.

"Good morning!" Kershia greeted him back with a sweet smile.

"Are you still mad at me?" he asked while cupping her face.

Kershia shook her head, "Let's not talk about it anymore."

"No." Von protested, "You made a promise last night. I want to make things clear, bubbah. I want to explain my side, I want you to know the truth."

Kershia heaved out a deep sigh, "You really want to hurt me over and over again."

Von held her hand, "Of course not!" then he kissed her knuckles, "You know how much I value this relationship, I want this to work. Keeping secrets and telling lies destroy a relationship. Let's be honest to each other."

"Fine. Go talk and I will listen."

"I was really drunk that night..." Von started, "I was looking for you and I thought Bianca was you. You were both wearing the same shirt, same short, same shoes and even same hairstyle. You girls were acting twins that day, right? Everyone in the team was hanging out with their girls so I decided to look for you and since I was drunk, I couldn't properly recognize a person, so when I saw that shirt, I immediately assumed that she was you. I am so sorry if I kissed your best friend. I swear to god I didn't know she was Bianca. I'm really sorry, Kersh. I didn't mean to hurt you."

Kershia was speechless. She couldn't find the right words to say, a tear just fell in her eyes.

"I am your girlfriend, Von. Dapat kilala mo ako kahit nakatalikod pa ako. And to think we've been friends since highschool."

"I know." Von answered, "But please try to understand me, Kersh. I was drunk that night."

"What will you feel if i tell you now that I kissed Fonzo because I was drunk and I thought he was you?" Kershia countered, "Pag sinabi ko bang intindihin mo ako, iintindihin mo yung reason ko na lasing ako?"

He furiously shook his head, "I'll be upset because I know deep down in my heart he still feel something for you. I am a guy, Kersh. I know those things."

"Can we just stop talking about these things?" Kershia said, annoyance was evident on the tone of her voice, "I mean... About the kiss and Fonzo. Let's just forget it." then she turned her back on him.

Kershia was about to get off the bed when Von suddenly gently pulled her back.

"There you go again, Kersh. Are you really just going to turn your back everytime we have a misunderstanding? Can we atleast talk about what happened last night?"

"We had sex. That's it!" Kershia answered straightforwardly, "Sorry I have to go now. I have to attend my class." then she get off the bed and picked up her clothes on the floor.

"You're not leaving this room, Kershia Gayle!" Von shouted, "Not until you talk to me. And I don't give a damn if you will miss a long test. Talk to me."
