Thirteenth Shot

It has only been two days but Von felt like he's away from Kershia for like a week already. For him it's the longest 2 days of his life. He terribly misses her that he couldn't eat properly because his mind was occupied by Kershia the whole time.

Kershia was on her laptop when her phone suddenly beeped. She stood up from her seat and headed to her bed to check who texted her.

She was smiling like an idiot while reading his message to her then she tapped the reply box as soon as she finished reading it.

After sending her reply, she opened her Instagram application on her phone and shared a photo of her and Von. It was taken during their prom.

Kershia heaved out a deep and long sigh as she stared at their photo. Her parents always go out of the country but she never felt like this before. She feels like every minute is like an hour without Von by her side.

"Ang lalang kaso ng sepanx to ah!" Kershia told herself while shaking her head.

She was already about to sleep when Von suddenly called her through Facetime. She excitedly answered his call.

"Hi Vonskiie!" she greeted him happily while waving her hand, "How are you?"

Von smiled at her, "I'm doing good here, how about you?"

Kershia frowned, "I miss you so bad. Come back here already."

"I miss you, too, my princess." he answered quickly, "I wish I could. 5 more days nalang, we'll see each other again."
"I heard you're playing well there." Kershia said as cheerful as she could, she doesn't want to be sad and mellowdramatic, "Inspired ah!"

"Yeah, I always tell myself lang that you are watching my game, kailangan magpakitang gilas." then he laughed.

"Bolero!" she replied, "Aren't you going to sleep yet, Vonskiie? You have a game pa tomorrow."

"I'll sleep in a while, I just want to see your beautiful face before I go to sleep that's why I called." he answered, "I'll hang up na rin, I don't want you to stay up too late."

"Awww you're too sweet for my life, Vonskiie!"

"I know!" Von said proudly, "Sige na, I'll call you again tomorrow. Good night, princess!"

"Okiedokie! Good night, my vonskiie! Behave ka lang jan ha? Bye!"

"Bye!"

Von and Kershia both went to sleep with smiles on their faces. Oh, what love can do to people.

It's almost lunchtime when Kershia went down to the living room, her mom was sitting on the couch while watching a business news.

"Good morning baby!" Therese greeted her daughter, "Can I talk to you for a while?"

"Yeah, sure!" then she sat beside her mom, "What are we going to talk about, mom?"

Therese sighed before answering her inquiry, "It's about your eyes, Kersh." she started, "You’ll be having your eye surgery on wednesday."

"WHAAAAT?!" she said in disbelief, "Bakit ang bilis naman ata nagkadonor?! Don't tell me may ginawa si Tita Pam and Tito Chandru."
