Eight Shot

"You really like him, don't you?" Therese said to her daughter when she saw her with a huge smile on her face while watching Von leaves the room.

Kershia looked at her mom and nodded, "Yes, I am ecstatic tonight, mom."

"Why?" both Therese and Daniel asked her curiously.

"He confessed his feelings to me earlier." she answered quickly.

"I thought he was courting Janine?" Therese asked, confusion is evident on the tone of her voice.

"As per Kiefer, he stopped courting Janine na." she explained, "Maybe he realized that Janine is not worth it. And besides, she took him for granted."

"You think so?" Daniel butted in, "What if he only confessed to you because of your condition? Baka naawa sa'yo and he wants you to be happy kaya niya ginawa."

"Von is not like that naman, dad." Kershia defended Von.

Daniel just shrugged, "It's not that I am interferring with your love life, it's just that I want you to take things slow, Kershia Gayle. I've known Von since he was 13 or 14 and I know that he is a good person. If you really like him and if he makes you happy, i'll be right behind you. I like him for you."

"I guess that's because our dear daughter didn't introduce other guys to us that's why we really like Von for her." Therese replied.

"Oh my god guys! Thanks for the support!" Kershia said happily.

"Just take things slow, okay?" Daniel reminded his daughter, "You don't have to rush things."

Kershia nodded at her dad, "Yes, dad."

Daniel sat on the couch and opened his laptop, he continued doing his paperworks that he didn't finish in the office. Therese on the other hand was sitting on the stool beside Kershia's bed while watching a business news.

"Ahh dad?" Kershia called the attention of his father.

"Yes?" Daniel answered without looking at her daughter.

"Can I borrow your laptop? I mean, can you leave it here for like a day or two?" she asked, "It's so boring here in the hospital. One week na akong natutulog and nanunuod lang."

Daniel raised his head and looked at Kershia, "No, baby." he replied, "But I'll ask your yaya to tell our driver to bring your laptop here tonight when he picks us up."

"That would be great! Thanks Daddy!"

"You're always welcome, princess!"

"Mom, Dad, kailan ako pwede umuwi?"

"I'll ask your doctor about the update of your condition tomorrow." Therese answered, "Hopefully the day after next you'll be discharged na."

Kershia smiled, "Yes! I can go back to school na and also watch the games."

"I doubt that you can watch Von's games, baby." Therese replied, "We have to work on that broken ankle of yours."

Kershia frowned, "What's the use of wheelchair, mom?"

Daniel sigh, "Therese, let her do whatever she wants. If watching Von's game makes her happy then let her be. Bilhan nalang natin ng wheelchair."

"Ahhh!! You the best Dad!!"

Game Day.

After Von and Kiefer's classes, they met their other teammates at the Blue Eagle gym. Since the game is at the Arena, the boys decided to ride in the bus provided by the school.
