Seventeenth Shot

Kershia was in the middle of her class when her phone suddenly beeped. She glanced at her professor to check if she was looking at her students, luckily, she was writing on the white board so she took the opportunity to check her phone.

Are you still in class? We need your help. Von badly needs to be rushed in the hospital NOW. Ayaw magpadala sa hospital kasi may date daw kayo. ACL, I think.

Kershia dropped the pen that she was holding.

"What happened?" Bianca asked her worriedly.

Kershia bit her lower lip, "Von. ACL."

"What are you still doing here?! Go now! Puntahan mo na asawa mo!"

Kershia stared at Bianca and raised her eyebrow, "Asawa talaga agad?! Hindi ba pwedeng boyfriend muna?"

Bianca hit her on her arm, "At nakuha mo pang patulan yung sinabi ko? Umalis ka na. Ako na bahala kung may assignment man tayo."

Kershia tapped the reply box and composed a message.

To: Bubbah

HOY BAKIT AYAW MO MAGPADALA SA HOSPITAL?! HUMANDA KA SAKIN!!!!

Kerhsia was about to leave the room when her professor started talking again.

"I will be dismissing you early today 'cause I have to attend a meeting, kindly answer all the questions that I wrote on the board, it will be submitted tomorrow. Goodbye."

The moment Kershia's professor stepped her foot out of the room, she grabbed her things and rushed out of the classroom.

"Biancs, picturan mo send mo sa'kin mamaya ha!" Kershia shouted before she could completely leave the room.

"Copy!" Bianca shouted back.

Kershia ran as fast as she could to Moro, when she came in, no one was there. Not even a single player. She heaved out a long and deep sigh. She was about to leave and go to Blue Eagle Gym when a guy shouted.

"Just because you didn't see anyone it doesn't mean that no one's here." Kiefer said, "Ang bilis mo naman sumuko sa paghahanap eh."

Kershia slowly turned back to face him, "I thought Von badly needs help. Ano 'to lokohan lang?"

Instead of answering her inquiry he snapped his finger and the team came out one by one but Von is not with them. Kershia suddenly felt worried because she did not see Von.

"Where's Von?" she worriedly asked Kiefer while scanning the whole place, "Where is he?"

Fonzo walked towards her side and wrapped his arm around her, "Relax. He's fine."

Kershia yanked his arm, "It's not funny. Halos madapa ako kakatakbo para pumunta dito tapos pagti-tripan niyo lang pala ako. Bahala kayo sa buhay niyo!" then she turned her back and walked out of Moro.

She was near the stairs when Von suddenly showed up while holding a bouquet of Tulip. He was smiling sweetly at her, "Short tempered girl."

"So kasama ka din sa pangtitrip nila?!"

Von shrugged, "You are too busy to remember that today is our 1st month. I have to pretend pa na na-ACL para pumunta ka dito."

"You know that I'm working on my thesis." she said.

Von walked closer to her then he put his hands on her waist, "I know bubbah and I understand." then he hugged her tight, "Happy first monthsary, Kershia! I love you!"
