"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, THOMAS?!" Von shouted

Pam grabbed his son's shirt and pulled him closer to her, "Von, calm down! What's happening?!"

Kershia tried her best to sit but she's too weak to do it. Von rushed to her side and helped her.

"Thomas please..." she pleaded, "Please leave..."

"You heard what she said, Torres." Von said with a stern voice, "Leave her room now."

"I'll go now, Kershie, your knight in shining armor is here na." Thomas said, "Get well soon, Kershie!" then he faked a smile.

Thomas was sad when he left Kershia's room. He was hoping that he could talk to her and apologize for being a jerk last time but Von and Pam came, he didn't get to explain his side because Von was so mad at him, it was evident on his facial reaction.

"Did he hurt you?" Von asked Kershia worriedly while checking on her, "Are you okay?"

Kershia held his hands, "Von, calm down, okay? I'm perfectly fine."

Von sighed in relief, "Thank god he didn't do anything to you."

"Can you guys please tell me what's going on here?" Pam interrupted them, she looked confused.

"It's nothing, Tita." Kershia replies immediately, "Thomas and I had a little fight lang before. Von was just overreacting lang."

"Sa susunod umayos ka Von ha!" Pam reprimanded his son, "Ano makikipag-away ka? Ganya ba kita pinalaki? Akala mo nasa kalye ka ha!"

"Sorry." he apologized.

Pam sat on the stool beside Kershia's bed and she looked at her wearily.

"Tita naman." Kershia broke the silence, "I'm good. Don't worry about me."

No matter how much Pam tried to hold back her tears, they betrayed her, they freely flow from her eyes and that made Kershia cry as well.

"Don't make this hard for me, Tita." Kershia said while wiping Pam's tears using her thumb, "I'm a strong girl, kaya ko 'to."

Pam still didn't say a word, she just continued crying like a baby.

"Listen to me, Tita Pam. This broken ankle will definitely heal after a year or maybe less than a year. Don't worry too much about me, theraphy lang 'to. Remember when Von broke his finger during one of his FilOil games? Parang ganun lang din 'yun, ankle nga lang sa'kin. And this eye..." she stopped for a second and she pointed her left eye, "Okay lang kahit wala na siya, I still have another eye pa. I can still watch your son play."

Pam smiled for a second, "After all the things that have happened to you, you're still thinking about my son."

Kershia chuckled, "Ganyan ko kamahal yang anak mo, Tita!"

Von shook his head, "I didn't know that you're a bolera."

"I'm not a bolera 'no!" she responded quickly, "That's true kaya!"

"Kung totoo 'yun magpagaling ka na agad para makanuod ka na ulit ng game namin."

"I'll watch promise, but not live muna."

"Okay, I hope--" Von didn't get to finish what he wanted to say, Pam interrupted him.

"Can you go outside for a while, Von?" Pam asked her son, "I want to talk to Kershia privately."

Von's brows furrowed, "Do I really have to get out?"

Pam just gave his son a Don't-be-a-hardheaded-now look. Von just shrugged his shoulders amd silently left the room.

"What are we going to talk about, Tita?" Kershia asked her eagerly.

"You're just pretending that you're okay." Pam started, "I can see in your eyes that you are not. Von cares so much about you, you don't have to hide to him what you really feel."

"Ayokong maging pabigat sakanya, Tita." she answered straighforwardly, "And I don't want him to worry about me. He has to focus on his upcoming games."

"But I think he has the right to know that you are not okay. He hasn't told you yet but he considers you as his best friend."

"Tita, if I tell him that I am not okay, do you think he can still focus in his trainings and games? I'm sure hindi, nandito 'yun lagi."

Pam nodded at her, "You have a point, hija. But don't worry, I will try my best to look for an eye donor. I know there are a lot of people on the waiting list but I am more than willing to use my connections para mauna ka lang. Yes, that's unfair but I don't care. I don't want you to suffer for years."

Kershia held Pam's hands and looked at her straight in the eye, "Thank you so much, Tita Pam. I really appreciate it po but you don't have to do it, I'll patiently wait for my turn po."

"Kershia, thousands of people 'yun, years ang hihintayin mo."

"I know, Tita." she answered then she smiled at her, "I don't want to be unfair to others."

"You really are a good person, Kershia." Pam commented, "I am 109% sure that my son will be in good hands if he ends up with you."

"Here we go again, Tita Pam." Kershia said then she chuckled, "If it's meant to be, it will be."

"Haynako Kershia! Ilalakad kita kay Von. At ilalakad ko si Von sa'yo!"

The two both laughed out loud and Von heard them.

"Mom?" Von called her mother while knocking on the door.

"Come in!" Pam shouted.

"What did you guys talk about?" Von asked when he came in.

"Wala!" Kershia answered quickly.

"You guys are keeping a secret to me ha!" Von said, "And you had lunch with my mom without me. Grabe!"

"And that's because you were too busy with Janine, son." Pam countered, "You can't blame us."

Von sighed, "Okay, ako nanaman."

The door abruptly opened then Kiefer, Mika and Fonzo came in.

"Hi Kershia!" the three greeted her enthusiastically

"Hi guys!" Kershia greeted them back, "What's with the high energy, guys?"

"Miss ka na kasi namin!" Kiefer answered.

"Hindi ba dapat malungkot kayo, guys?" Von asked.

"Actually malungkot na ko nung nakita kita." Fonzo joked.

Von's aura changed drastically, "Funny, Fonzo. Funny."
