Chapter Four ~

Logan's POV

******************************************

I couldn't stop thinking about Jillian. She was weird I'll admit. Acted as if I was some sort of alien at first, but I had to say, she was cute. I let out a chuckle remembering her reaction to my bacon macaroni and cheese, the way her whole face lit up like a little kid on Christmas morning.

I had to stop thinking about her so much.

As soon as I got home from dropping her off, my mood shifted. I dialed my uncle's number in fury.

"We were supposed to be keeping our distance!" I yelled into the phone when I heard him pick up. "This was not a part of the plan!"

"It was taking too long and I was getting impatient. If I had the chance to do it again, I would do it in a heartbeat. You know that my intentions were in the right place Logan."

I scoffed at his ridiculous excuse. I could feel the anger burning up inside of me. "You punched me in the face Uncle. I landed on top of her and she was seriously hurt. If anything had happened to her...-"

"Yes. But it's not like she needed to be hospitalized so stop over-reacting. I'm sure you were able to clean the wound and stitch her up real good. She should be as good as new within the next two weeks."

He was trying to calm me down but it damn well wasn't working. I slammed my fist onto the table and it shook from the force. "This didn't need to happen. She wasn't supposed to get hurt. You went way too fucking far this time."

"Well we've made more progress tonight than we have in the past year!" his voice was getting angrier and louder, "Jason was getting impatient as was I, and I'm sure he'll be ecstatic with the good news. She has a sense of trust around you now Logan, we must use that to our advantage, try to understand!"

I was met with a click followed by a dial tone. He had hung up on me.

I clenched my fist and threw the phone across the room and it let out an ear piercing shatter as it hit the wall.

In a way, I knew he was right. We were getting nowhere before. And now I've actually met her, and she doesn't hate me... which for now I'm taking as a good sign. But there were much less harmful approaches that we could have taken. And I'm not going to let this stunt of his just slide.

Thirteen more days before she leaves. Better get to work.
