New Friend, Old Enemy

Alyssa's POV:

The five of us are now running among the rooftops of NYC. As much as we love crime fighting, it's nice to have a night off to have some carefree fun. Once we reach some random rooftop, Donnie decides to start a competition to see who could do the best free-fall flips through at the air from one rooftop to the next.

Donnie: "Check it out. Yeehee!"

He then leaps through the air, performing a front flip. Just as he lands, he turns to face us, his hand placed in front of him on the ground to help keep his balance. Mikey follows after him with a similar front flip, landing instead with a sideways roll. He then stands as he turns to face us with a cocky grin, Donnie applauding him before turning to match his gaze.

Mikey: "Ha ha! Top that, chumps!"

Leo: "All right, guys."

Me: "Check this out."

Leo & I take a few steps back from the edge of the rooftop, do simultaneous cartwheels, and roll through the air before landing with cartwheels.

Mikey: "Whoa."

Raph: "Cute, kiddies."

Raph runs to the edge of the roof, before leaping into the air to pounce on the others while I dodge the attack.

Donnie: "Hey, what was that? You didn't do any flips."

Then, we hear a 'crash' from behind us. The five of us slowly walk to the source of the sound, weapons at the ready. Suddenly, a kitten leaps out in front of us, causing us to drop our battle stances. Raph then smirks at Leo as he puts a hand on his shoulder.

Raph: "Don't give up, Leo. You might actually win this fight."

Mikey then shoves the two of them out of the way to walk towards the kitten and pick it up.

Mikey: "Aww! It's a little kitty. And it's name is..."

We then hear the voice of a man poking his head out the window of a building across the street.

Man: "Mittens!"

Mikey: "Good guess. Wait who said that?"

Man: "Mittens?"

We turn to face the man, who must be looking for the cat.

Donnie: "I think that's the owner. What are you doing?"

Leo: "Whoa, hey."

Raph: "Mikey, wait."

Mikey then runs to approach the man before we stop him. He then turns to us with a look of confusion.

Mikey: "What? I'm returning Mittens to her owner."

Raph: "Are you an idiot? Wait, let me rephrase that. You're an idiot."

Donnie: "You can't show yourself to a human."

Mikey: "Why not?"

Donnie: "Because they'll freak the heck out, that's why not."

Mikey: "No, they won't. I'm not so scary."

Raph: "You're an ugly, green mutant armed with ninja weapons.

Mikey: "Look, this guy's gonna see that I'm just a regular, cat-loving dude like him. Next thing you know, we'll be best buds."

Leo: "No!"
