Albedo directed the four of you up to higher ground, or what he called the test site. Now the four of you were huddled in a group to have a conversation, kindly started by the one and only Paimon of course. "Paimon has a question. After the seed sprouts, will it grow into anything?" She asked with her head tilted to the side.
"I don't know," the platinum blonde admitted, "but I feel the importance will lie in the method, not the end point. Using alchemy to awaken otherworldy life in Teyvat would constitute a big leap in my understanding of the essence of life." He lifted his hand up to observe his open palm before clenching it into a fist. "After awakening, even creation may be possible."
The three of you glanced at each other. "Uhh..." Paimon drew out awkwardly. Seeing her behavior, Albedo grinned a little. "Aha... Still a little difficult to understand?" He asked. You shrugged. "You're rather philosophical, you know." The alchemist seemed proud of that.
Paimon flustered a bright red. "N—No! Paimon's got a brain! A big one! But what's the seed gonna become? Isn't that more interesting than whatever it was you were saying?" Aether sweat dropped at her exclamation. "Doesn't seem like you understood... But still, that's what I want to know."
Albedo just shrugged. "Well, if it turns out to be a delicious fruit, dinner's on me." He said with a small, crooked grin. Paimon gasped and threw her hands up happily. "Yay! Paimon's holding you to it!"
You smirked teasingly at the floating girl. "Heh. You certainly know how to capture her attention." Albedo's cheeks tinted a light pink. "Well, let's just say I... occasionally have to look after a child. Another lengthy explanation I'm afraid. I suppose it's one of the few non-alchemy-related disciplines I'm any good at. The subject of my first research was the elements. In this world, manipulating the elements requires a Vision, though I can't see anything resembling one on your person like I do Y/N," he observed, gesturing to your Vision on your hip.
The male went on. "How you're able to freely manipulate elemental power is something I'd like to ascertain. I've got a few questions in that regard. Firstly, do you have any extra organs? A second heart, a fourth stomach... things of that nature." He asked in the most serious tone possible.
Aether blinked. You looked at him, patiently waiting for a response. "No... Not that I'm aware of." He said awkwardly, eyes darting to the side in confusion. Albedo stroked his chin. "Fascinating." He mumbled.
You whipped your head towards Aether. "How about your bones? Are they hallow? Bird's bones are hollow to allow them fly easier. Less weight, y'know." You ranted out quickly. Aether raised an eyebrow. "I... never looked, but I'm 99% sure they're normal bones."
Albedo hummed. "So you don't seem to be related to any avian species. Interesting. And this floating child is... connected to your body in some way?" He asked, gesturing up towards the white haired girl.
Paimon pouted and put her hands on her hips. "What a stupid question! Can't you see the gap between us?" She yelled, "And another thing, it's PAIMON! Not floating child!" Albedo shrugged. "I was merely considering the possibility that you were an external organ. Perhaps there is some invisible force connecting you."
You pursed you lips. "That's... certainly a thought." You mumbled. Aether shook his head. "I met Paimon on my travels. I caught her with a fishing rod." Albedo nodded. "Oh, that rules out that possibility. I wonder, did Paimon guide the elemental power to you?"
Aether opened his mouth to respond, but Albedo cut him off with his own ramblings of thought. "But that would mean that Paimon's elemental power would be enough to break through mountain rock at least ten meters thick. Or cause the waterfall south of Springvale to flow backwards. Hmm. No, that definitely can't be it..."
