The very structure of the ruins you were atop of rumbled, the wind picking up almost by a tenfold. Your ears popped with the sheer velocity the wind beat into them as bright ancient lights in the middle of tower activated. Based on the roar from the distance, you could tell Dvalin was close.
Stopping a blob of blue in the distance, your heart began to race. "Venti, are you sure this will work...?" You yelled over to the bard despite the wind dampening it to a murmur. "Well," the male began, "it's a long shot, but I have hope."
Dvalin was now circling the tower, roaring and trying to imitate your group into a retreat. Venti's eyes widened as he quickly pointed to two sharp bumps atop dragon's spine. "Look! There are two shiny spots on Dvalin's back! They appear to be poisonous blood clots that have coagulated on his wounds... The Abyss Order must have cursed the wounds. That's what's corrupting Dvalin's mind," he yelled out in realization, "To save Dvalin, we're going to have to get rid of those blood clots."
"How?!" Jean exclaimed, "only you have a far range weapon and our wing gliders aren't strong enough for environments like this!" She yelled over the increasing harshness of the wind. Diluc scoffed to himself harshly. "Archons, I can't believe I overlooked that!" He grumbled to himself in frustration.
Your eyes widened as you quickly looked over to Aether. "But our's should be!" You quickly yelled over the wind as Dvalin began to realize he wouldn't be able to scare you off with roars and growls alone.
Jean's eyes went wide. "I-Is that safe?!" She said worriedly. "Fear not," Venti reassured, "I will provide assistance. Y/N, Aether, ready?" You glanced over at the blonde who gave you a firm nod. With glider winds outstretched, you and Aether ran towards the edge of the tower and leaped off with a 'good luck, be careful,' from Paimon to see you off.
The Anemo sigil appeared in front of you and Aether, just like from the first Stormterror attack, as a lighter, more direct wind lifted you higher into the air. Dvalin growled and turned away from the two of you in an attempt to flee. "Aim for those blood clots!" Venti advised from below.
As the two of you shot bright turquoise blasts of Anemo energy at the dragon's back, Dvalin began to retaliate with smaller, darker blue blasts back at you. Despite getting a few good shots on the lower blood clot, Dvalin suddenly dived and created a large gasp of distance between him and the two of you.
"Dvalin is getting away..." Venti grimaced, "but I am familiar with his tactics. Just hold on a bit longer. I'll extract and condense the pure Anemo from the shots being fired. Shattering them will create acceleration currents," he explained, "I can't control where they will appear, so keep your eyes peeled. Shatter the condensed Anemo orbs to create acceleration currents. I know it's hard to tell amidst the barrage of bullets, but this is the only way."
You saw a faint outline of a turquoise circle and glanced at Aether for confirmation. Quickly, the two of you broke through it only for a sudden blast of wind to push you forwards. You had to hold in a squeal from the surprise of sheer energy pushed you forwards.
Once you were almost on top of the dragon, you looked towards Aether (who was closer to the blood clot) and shouted, "Aether, use your sword to finish it off!" Aether's eyes widened slightly but nodded and closed in on the dragon with his sword he had summoned moments prior. He raised the sword up and brought it down on the spike with a grunt. A burst of both Anemo (but mostly abyss magic) shot out from it.
With your shots from the Anemo sigil and Aether's strike from the sword, the blood clot had vanished and Dvalin let out a terrible roar of pain. As bad as you felt for doing such a thing, you knew this was for the best. Well... at least Barbatos was here egging you on.
