Aether was a bit surprised upon seeing you act so... so... in your element. Your body was calm yet ready to act with a moment's notice. Hunched behind the one of the several desks of the Cathedral's basement, you peered out with a calculating look. There were several people there, but thankfully they all seemed too absorbed in their own tasks to notice anything astray. As for Aether and Paimon, they simply waited for your cue.

Taking Aether's wrist, you pulled him to the table next to your's but this time closer to the lyre. "Stay low to the ground," you warned in a barely audible tone. Aether only nodded.

Doing the same as last time, you pulled Aether again. This time, however, he hadn't expected it and ended up tripping over his own feet. Both your eyes widened as the two of you fell to the floor behind another desk. You carefully angled yourself (since you were the one of the ground and he overtop) not to make too much noise upon hitting the ground.

With your back laid against the ground and Aether pinning you to it, you raised your head, holding yourself up on your elbows, and halted your breathing. A worker passed by the other side of the desk, non the wiser to what was really going on. When he left, you let out a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Aether was practically malfunctioning. His face was a bright red color as he stared wide eyed into you, silently losing his mind at such a... intimate... position.

Your eyes went back to him a moment later, his entire being faltering for a moment. "I-I'm s-" He attempted to apologize only for his mouth to be met with your hand. You shook your head calmly, a silent communication of don't speak and it's alright, don't worry about it. Paimon just rolled her eyes, floating nearby with a tired look.

Finally the three of you made it to the section where the lyre was kept, the artifact sitting pretty right on the pedestal. You sweat dropped at how surprising easily that was, but then again, the guards were on lunch break when you broke in.

You nodded towards the lyre, signaling it's time for you and Aether to grab it quickly. However, the moment you set foot into the lyre's little area, a figure in purple gracefully glided right seemingly out of nowhere before grabbing the lyre with a smirk. Based on the fact her eyes were covered and her clothes were designed to be warm (and she was doing something illegal) she was likely part of the Fatui. You scowled. They must've been waiting for you to show to pin the blame on someone else.

Aether and you let out silent gasps of surprise. She grinned and put her fingers to her lips cheekily, shushing the both of you with a smug look. Aether launched himself at her as you did the same after summoning your sword to cut her down.

Before the two of you could even lay a finger on her, she disappeared into a purple color leaving both of you in confusion without a lyre. "She... disappeared?" Paimon said in a tone of squeaky confusion. You immediately cringed, realizing that somebody probably heard and was about to investigate.

Sure enough, seconds later, a knight blocked the door with an accusatory look. In his defense, it looked pretty bad for the three of you. "Freeze!" He cried with a glare. Immediately you fixed the cloak around your neck, carefully adjusting it so it covered the lower half of your face.

"What are you doing here?!" He screamed. "Oh, no..." Aether mumbled. You grabbed his wrist with a yank forwards. "Run!" The two of you split it on either sides of the guard, confusing him for a brief second and allowing the two of you to run off.

More footsteps began following the three of you out of the Cathedral and to Venti who had been ideally kicking his legs from his perch on the railing. "Oh nooooooo...!" Paimon cried causing him to look over, "We're busted! Run!" She yelled.
