I don't know what to feel. I'm over the moon and extremely worried about Danny. I don't know whether to dream about his lips or his scared eyes. But he doesn't really let me worry as he sends me cute messages. I find myself giggling at night under the blankets as I text him. He has a lot of time on his hands since he doesn't work anymore and we're still waiting to hear from his boss in Korea.

The person I have not been able to encounter is my sister. I frown when I see that she hasn't even seen my messages. Something must have happened at that wedding for her to drown herself in work. I tried calling her the other day and she hung me up.

I let my mouth fall agape and angrily put my phone on the table as I finished my breakfast. I let out a scoff and crossed my arms on my chest as if she could see my annoyance. "Fine. Be that way. Don't come crying to me when you need my help and I hang you up!"

"I knew it. You're a psychopath."

I turn in my seat with wide eyes to see Kayla coming out of her room, ready for school. She snickers when I furrow my brows at her. "Hey! You little punk. Watch your words. I might be crazy enough to beat you up."

She turns from the sink with the breakfast that our mother left for us and says with defiance, "I want to see you try."

"What?! You're dead."

I immediately get up and she nearly drops her plate. I freeze in front of her as she puts a hand up for me to stop. She gently puts our mother's precious plate down and then starts to run. We are like cats and dogs chasing each other around the house until she finds my phone I left on the small dinner table and holds it up with devilish eyes.

I freeze just steps away from her and narrow my eyes. "Give me that, you little punk."

"Why? What are you hiding?"

"Don't you dare try to test me, punk! Leanne isn't here to protect you!"

She keeps a blank face and blinks before starting to scroll through the notifications on my lock screen.

"That's it! I warned you!"

She begins to read them out loud as she starts to run away again. I have to find breath at one point as she stands behind a sofa with a burst of laughter.

"Geez. How do you have so much energy so early in the morning?"

"How is our mother more in shape than you are and you're younger?" she says as she continues to scroll through my phone as I catch my breath. But her eyes grow wide when there is a new notification and she looks at it. A smirk starts on her lips as she begins to read it out loud. "Good morning, beautiful. I just finished my coffee and I had a thought. Perhaps we could grab lunch today when you are free. I miss your pretty face."

She does a squeal and I practically jump at her. She quickly throws my phone to the sofa across from the one she is hiding and covers her head as I grab her collar. But I let her go and she falls to the ground when we see our mother come into the living room with wide eyes. Kayla continues to giggle as she sits up on the ground and her eyes twinkle with mischief as our mother says, "What is going on here? Are you two fighting again?"

"No," I say with a quick shake of my head. "I was just fixing her collar and she wouldn't stay still."

Kayla gives our mother innocent eyes and says to her, "Mom. I wanted to use Emma's phone so I could call Leanne since she wouldn't answer me, but she harassed me. I think she's hiding something."

"What?!"

I look at Kayla with eyes filled with daggers ready to kill her. She gives me a smirk as our mother puts her hands on her hips. "Let's see."
