Chapter two: A Second Chance

 A week had passed since Max had woken up from her coma, much to the relief and joy of all her friends. The doctors had given her the all-clear to leave the hospital, her injuries healing rapidly with each passing day. And so, Lucas eagerly drove her back to Hopper's cabin, where their friends eagerly awaited her arrival.As they walked through the door, Max was greeted with a chorus of cheers and smiles. Mike, Eleven, Dustin, Will, Hopper, Steve, and Lucas all stood in the living room, their faces lit up with happiness as they welcomed her home.

"Max!" Mike exclaimed, rushing forward to hug her. "We are so glad to have you back."Max felt a rush of emotion at the sight of her friends, feeling overwhelmed by their love and support. She smiled through tears as she hugged each of them in turn, grateful for their unwavering presence in her life.As the excitement settled down, Max found herself sitting by the fireplace with Lucas, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she was safe and loved, surrounded by the people who meant the most to her.

And then, after an hour of laughter and shared stories, Max turned to Lucas, her heart pounding in her chest. "L-Lucas?" she stammered, her voice trembling with uncertainty. "C-Can we g-get back together?"Lucas's eyes widened in surprise, a rush of emotions flooding through him. The thought of being with Max again, of having her by his side, filled him with a sense of longing and hope."Sure," Lucas replied softly, a smile spreading across his face. "You don't know how long I have been wanting to hear that for.

"Max's face lit up with joy as she threw her arms around Lucas, burying her face in his chest. They held each other tightly, feeling the weight of the past year lift off their shoulders. They had been through so much together, but now they knew that they were stronger than ever before.And as they sat together in the warmth of the cabin, surrounded by their friends and the promise of a brighter future, Max and Lucas knew that this time, they would not let anything come between them. They had been given a second chance, a chance to start anew, and they were determined to make the most of it.
