Chapter 11: Playful Melodies and Mischief at Hopper's Cabin

it now has been four months since she had awoken from her coma and rekindled her relationship with Lucas, finding comfort and solace in his presence. 

 One day, the tranquility of the cabin was interrupted by the sound of Dustin and his long-distance girlfriend Susie singing the neverending story theme song through their walkie talkies. Max and Lucas shared a knowing look, a mischievous spark lighting up their eyes.

An hour later, the group found themselves gathered in the living room with Dustin, playfully teasing him as they sang the song, their voices blending in a cacophonous yet harmonious melody. "Turn around, look at what you see," Max sang, a smirk playing on her lips as she glanced at Lucas.

"In her face, the mirror of your dreams," Lucas chimed in, a playful twinkle in his eye. "Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds," they sang together, their voices mingling in a playful duet.

Max turned to Dustin with a mischievous grin. "Wait, did we still get that verse right? 'Unfold behind the clouds'?" she asked innocently. Dustin groaned, shaking his head in mock exasperation. "Yes, but you're butchering it again. Could you please stop?" 

Max and Lucas exchanged a smirk before launching back into the song, their voices filled with laughter and joy. "Turn around, look at what you see, in their face, the mirror of your dreams, rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds," they sang, their voices intertwining in a playful harmony. 

"Shut up, guys, shut up!" Dustin protested, a mix of amusement and annoyance evident in his tone. Undeterred, Max and Lucas shared a brief, lighthearted kiss, their lips meeting in a playful gesture meant to rile up their friend even more. Dustin's eyes widened in disbelief, but a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. 

"You two are insufferable," he chuckled, unable to hide his amusement.As the laughter filled the room, the group settled into a comfortable silence, the warmth of their friendship enveloping them like a cozy blanket. In that moment, surrounded by the ones they loved, they found solace in the music, the mischief, and the unwavering bond between them. And as the neverending story of their friendship continued to unfold, they knew that they could face whatever challenges lay ahead as long as they had each other by their side.
