One day, as Max and Lucas were talking in their room, Dustin burst in unexpectedly.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Dustin asked, looking a bit confused at the sight of Max and Lucas sitting close together.
Without missing a beat, Max and Lucas both started singing in unison, "Turn around, look at what you see, in her face, the mirror of your dreams, Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds!"
Max looked at Dustin with a mischievous grin, "Is that verse still right?"
Dustin rolled his eyes, "Yes, but you're butchering it again. Could you please stop?"
Max and Lucas exchanged a smirk before continuing to sing, "Turn around, look at what you see, in their face, the mirror of your dreams, Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds!"
Dustin couldn't take it anymore and threw a chair at Max and Lucas. Unfortunately, the chair hit Max in the head, causing her to pass out.
"Max? Max?!" Lucas cried out in panic.
Realizing the severity of the situation, Lucas frantically called for help and rushed Max to the hospital. He quickly informed their friends to meet them there.
In the hospital waiting room, Lucas was pacing back and forth, his worry evident to everyone around him. The rest of the group tried to reassure him, but he couldn't shake off the fear of losing Max again.
"Lucas, she's going to be okay. Max is strong, she's a fighter," Mike said, placing a reassuring hand on Lucas's shoulder.
"Trust me, man, Max is tough. She's been through so much and always comes out on top," Jonathan added, trying to offer some encouragement.
Steve chimed in, "Yeah, Lucas, she's gonna bounce back from this. We all believe in her."
Hopper, usually a man of few words, spoke up, "You've both been through hell and back together. Max is a damn survivor, she'll pull through."
Joyce placed a hand on Lucas's other shoulder, looking him in the eye, "We've seen the strength of your love for each other. That's what will get her through this, Lucas."
Feeling overwhelmed, Lucas made his way to the junkyard, a place that held sentimental value for him and Max. He climbed up onto the bus where they had their first heart-to-heart conversation in 1984 and put on Max's Walkman, listening to her favorite song "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush.
Meanwhile, back at the hospital, the others were gathered in Max's room, talking to her and offering their support. Max reassured Dustin that she forgave him for the accident, but her concern for Lucas grew as she noticed his absence.
"Where's Lucas? Is he okay?" Max panicked, her heart racing with worry.
Dustin had a hunch where Lucas might be and quickly made his way to the junkyard. He found Lucas lost in thought and gently nudged him back to reality.
"Dude, there you are! Max is awake and asking for you. Let's go," Dustin urged, leading Lucas back to the hospital.
As Lucas entered Max's room, a wave of relief washed over him. He pulled her into a tight hug, and their lips met in a tender kiss. Laughter filled the room as Lucas tickled Max, the sound of their joy echoing through the hospital.
Through tears of happiness, Max whispered, "I'm never letting you go again."
And as the group watched on, they knew that no matter what challenges they faced, their bond was unbreakable. Together, they were stronger than anything that stood in their way. And as Lucas held Max close, he knew that with the love and support of their friends, they could overcome any obstacle that came their way.
