Max and Lucas were spending a quiet afternoon at Hopper's cabin, the place they now called home. The tranquility of their day was interrupted by a sudden, insistent knocking at the door. Max looked at Lucas, a hint of concern in her eyes, as she got up to answer the door.
As she opened it, she was met with the surprising sight of her dad standing on the doorstep. "Dad?" Max's voice wavered with a mix of emotions - surprise, confusion, and a hint of apprehension.
Her dad's eyes swept over Lucas, and his expression darkened. "Who's this?" he asked, his tone laced with disapproval.
Max took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "This is Lucas, my boyfriend. We've been together for a while now," she said, hoping to convey her sincerity.
Her dad's eyes narrowed as he took in Lucas' appearance. "A black boy, huh? You're dating a black boy?" His words dripped with disdain, causing Lucas to tense beside Max.
Max could feel the tension rising in the room, and her anger flared. "Don't you dare judge him based on his race. Lucas is an incredible person, and I won't stand by while you insult him," she said, her tone firm and unyielding.
Her dad's face hardened further. "I won't tolerate this. You both need to leave at once," he said, his voice cold and authoritarian then Max started to say to her dad "you racist son of a-" but then the front door slammed shut, and she knew Lucas had left in response to the hostility. Heart pounding, Max hurried outside to find Lucas standing by the cabin, tears glistening in his eyes.
"I'm so sorry, Lucas. My dad has no right to treat you that way. I can't believe him," Max said, her voice filled with regret and frustration.
Lucas looked at her, his expression a mix of sadness and gratitude. "Thank you, Max. Your words mean a lot to me. I don't know what I'd do without you," he said, his voice choked with emotion.
As they stood there, finding solace in each other's presence, they shared a tender moment of understanding and comfort. And as they embraced, their bond grew stronger than ever, a beacon of love and resilience in the face of adversity.
Authors note: I really think people should stop being racist its just rude and bad to do and im a white person and black colored people should not be having to deal with racist stuff.
