Chapter 13: The Arcade Encounter

Max and Lucas decided to head down to the arcade for some fun after the camera incident. As they walked in, they were greeted by the familiar face of Brad, the worker behind the counter. But to their surprise, Brad's expression soured when he saw Max. "Oh no, it's the angry redhead. What am I gonna do?" Brad muttered under his breath, his eyes flickering with annoyance. 

Lucas, feeling protective of Max who was also his girlfriend, stepped forward, a scowl forming on his face. "Hey, watch your mouth. Max is not someone you want to mess with," he warned, his tone firm and protective.But before Lucas could say more, Brad lashed out, pushing Lucas back and throwing a punch that caught him off guard. Lucas stumbled, his face registering shock as Brad's actions escalated.

Max's heart raced with worry as she watched the scene unfold. She couldn't bear to see Lucas getting hurt because of her. "Lucas, let's go," she urged, her voice wavering with concern. Back at Hopper's cabin, Max carefully tended to Lucas's injuries, her hands gentle as she cleaned and patched him up. "I'm so sorry, Lucas. I never wanted this to happen," she whispered, her eyes filled with regret. 

Lucas reached out and took Max's hand in his, his expression soft and reassuring. "It's not your fault, Max. I'll always protect you, no matter what," he said, his voice filled with determination. A sense of gratitude and warmth filled Max's heart as she looked at Lucas, appreciating his unwavering support and care. "Thank you, Lucas. I'm lucky to have you by my side," she said softly, a small smile lighting up her face. 

In that moment, as their eyes met and their hands intertwined, Lucas pulled Max into a gentle kiss, a silent reassurance of their love and commitment to each other. Their bond grew stronger with each challenge they faced together, knowing that as long as they had each other, they could conquer any obstacle that came their way.
