Chapter 41: makeout.

Max and Lucas were enjoying a quiet evening in their shared room at Hopper's cabin. They had been dating again for seven months since Max had woken up from her coma, and things between them had been going well.

As they cuddled on the bed, Lucas leaned in to kiss Max, and she responded eagerly. Their lips met in a passionate embrace, and Max couldn't help but let out a soft moan. It was a sound she had never made before, and it caught Lucas off guard.

He pulled back slightly and looked at her with a mix of surprise and curiosity. "I liked that sound," he said, a blush spreading across his cheeks.

Max's face flushed as she realized what she had done. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered, feeling embarrassed. "I don't know where that came from."

Lucas reached out to gently cup her cheek, his expression tender. "No need to apologize. It was...nice," he admitted, a shy smile gracing his lips.

Max felt a rush of warmth at his words, and she couldn't help but smile back. "Well, I guess it's a good thing then," she replied, feeling more at ease.

They stayed silent for a moment, their eyes locked on each other as they let the moment linger. Finally, Lucas broke the silence. "You know, we never really talked about how we feel about each other," he said, his voice soft.

Max nodded, her heart fluttering in her chest. "I know. But, I think actions speak louder than words, don't you think?" she said, a hint of playfulness in her voice.

Lucas grinned, his eyes shining with affection. "I definitely agree. And I think your moans speak volumes," he teased, making Max giggle.

They continued talking late into the night, sharing stories and laughs, deepening their connection even further. And as they settled in for the night, Max couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and happiness she had found with Lucas by her side.
