Chapter 37: pool fun again!

 Lucas couldn't resist teasing Max, his playful demeanor evident as he leaned in closer. "You know, Max, I think you're absolutely breathtaking tonight," Lucas whispered, a cheeky grin playing on his lips.

Max rolled her eyes, a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Wow...you really suck at flirting, stalker," she teased, her tone laced with amusement.

Lucas feigned offense, raising an eyebrow. "Oh really? Then why are you blushing?" he shot back, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

Max felt her cheeks grow warmer, sputtering, "I-I d-don't k-know?.." Her words trailed off, her heart racing as she met Lucas's gaze.

Before she could gather her thoughts, Lucas closed the distance between them, their lips meeting in a tender kiss. As they shared the intimate moment, a loud snicker could be heard from the doorway. Erica stood there with a playful smirk, flipping them off in jest.

"Come on, you lovebirds! Get a room!" Erica teased, her eyes dancing with mischief.

Ignoring Erica's jest, Max and Lucas shared a chuckle, flipping her off in return. But their moment was interrupted by Hopper's voice.

"Everyone! Steve is coming to watch you while Joyce and I go out!" Hopper announced, his voice echoing through the cabin.

Excitement filled the air as Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Eleven, Will, Erica, and Max all cheered in unison, "Yay!"

Steve arrived at the cabin, his playful aura filling the space as he spotted Dustin and Lucas. Without missing a beat, he grabbed them both and threw them into the pool, their pleas for mercy echoing through the air.

"Please, Steve, no! We were just having fun!" Dustin pleaded, his voice filled with desperation.

"Oh, come on, man, please don't do it!" Lucas begged, his eyes widening in fear.

Max burst into laughter at the sight, unable to contain her amusement at their predicament.
