Chapter 24: caught!

Max and Lucas found themselves lost in the sweet embrace of their love, their lips meeting in tender kisses that spoke of their deep connection. But their moment of intimacy was abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of Dustin in the doorway, his eyes wide with shock at the sight before him.

"Dustin, what are you doing here?!" Max exclaimed, pulling away from Lucas in surprise.

Dustin's eyes sparkled mischievously as he lifted his camera, a devilish grin spreading across his face. "Oh, nothing, just capturing a rare and precious moment for posterity," he teased, pointing the lens at Max and Lucas.

Max's eyes widened in horror as she realized what Dustin was about to do. "Dustin, no! Don't you dare!" she cried, reaching out in a futile attempt to stop him.

But it was too late. With a triumphant click of the camera, Dustin captured a snapshot of Max and Lucas locked in a passionate embrace. "I'm gonna show this to Mike, Eleven, Will, Hopper, and Joyce!" Dustin declared, a gleeful twinkle in his eye.

Max and Lucas exchanged panicked looks before simultaneously calling out, "Dustin, please don't! That's private!"

But Dustin was already running off, a mischievous laugh trailing behind him as he darted down the hallway. Without a second thought, Max and Lucas chased after him, determined to retrieve the incriminating evidence before it could cause any more trouble.

"Dustin, give us that camera!" Max panted as she reached out to pounce on him, her determination fueling her every move.

Finally catching up to Dustin, Max managed to wrestle the camera from his grasp, a victorious cry of "Got it!" escaping her lips. With Lucas by her side, they quickly navigated to the camera's memory card, fingers flying over the buttons as they deleted the compromising footage.

Breathless and relieved, Max and Lucas turned to face Dustin, who was watching them with a sheepish expression. "I'm sorry, guys. I didn't mean to cause any trouble," he apologized, his eyes filled with regret.

Max's gaze softened as she looked at Dustin. "It's okay, Dustin. Just be more careful next time, okay?" she said, her voice gentle but firm.

Lucas nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we forgive you, but seriously, no more sneaky videos," he added with a knowing smile.

Dustin nodded, his relief evident as he thanked them for their understanding. The tension lifted from the room as they shared a moment of lighthearted laughter, the bond between them stronger than ever thanks to their shared experience.

As they settled back into a comfortable silence, Max and Lucas savored the warmth of each other's presence, grateful for the love and trust that bound them together.
