"Proceed to the next floor to begin," Said a speaker from above.

The entire atmosphere in this place was different from anywhere I'd ever been before. I felt static in the air as soon as we entered.

It was the complete opposite of the exterior. Marble floors extremely bright lights freshly painted walls. It reminds me of a modern, newly built hospital.

A lot of blue and white mainly. The floor we were currently on was almost empty beside a few tables and benches. The only thing that stood out was a giant screen on the far back wall.

"You may proceed now level one complete." The screen read as another robotic voice read it aloud. A door shot open.

"Up we go then," Said Modoru walking toward the door. He's unfazed by most of this I guess it's normal in high school then.

As we walked up the flight of stairs the staticky, now shocking or electrifying feeling increased by what felt like 10-fold.

"You feel that?" I said to Modoru. "Yeah it's straining already" he replied. "You may proceed to floor 2," said the now familiar voice as the door in front of us shot open.

The room is darker no visible light only blue a tint. It was pretty dark but it didn't take long for me to adjust. The floor is slickly made of a grey stone-type material.

We proceed through the door and it slams behind us. "Looks like we're stuck." My new partner said "That's pretty obvious. No way my mom agreed to this."

"Assume battle stance... ready, set, GO" Two figures made of pure blue electricity shot out from nowhere.

Caught off guard I jump back purely on instinct. Modoru on the other hand stood still and parried an attack from one figure with a wooden sword once again.

"I wonder what his deal is," I thought to myself. In an instant I obliterated the average, what seemed to be a soldier type, minion with a dagger that was on the bus for us to choose from.

Modoru finished his off as well with a sword slash to the chest surprisingly cleanly.

"That sword is shockingly sharp," I said. "Yeah the sharpest I could muster" he replied.

That makes sense then. Modoru's element is wood conjuration and manipulation.

"Proceed to the next floor"

[A Few Floors Later]

"Floor 13 complete proceed to the next floor"

At this pace, we won't make it to floor 25. We're moving slower and slower and the number of figures just keeps increasing.

It seems to be taking a toll on Modoru as well. The air is extremely heavy with friction and electricity making it hard to move and breathe.

"Floor 14 complete. Proceed to the next floor." This room felt different. It was more ominous.

A morale-killing screech rang through the room. In an instant, a bolt of lightning came flying at me when everything froze.

"Ah, you've returned rather quickly Kayui."
