Four students rush at me with insane speeds, but I'm slightly faster avoiding all direct attacks. "Last year I would've gotten blitzed," I chuckle jumping upward.
I look at our area from above. A lot of sand and large rocks construe my view. The area basically a wasteland.
"Going for what you think is the easy target won't get you anywhere. Do as you wish I'll give you an outcome."
I take a staff off my back that was given to me by Modoru. A broad shouldered boy jumps up after me crumbling the ground below him.
"Die you so called prodigy" he mutters starring intently.
The boy reaches for my foot. I boost myself even higher in the air with my aura as he decends. I smirk a little and point my hand towards him.
"Taste this. Fly."
The attack hits his chest and sends him sprawling back to the ground. A little sense of relief helps me focus.
I feel a small presence near me so I explode aura into my direct area shocking my body for a second disabling all movement.
The risk seemed to be worth it as a short girl comes into view out of thin air.
"An odd element. Show me more I'm curious."
Once again, she disappears slowly from top to bottom.
"You really think I'm gonna let you do that?"
"As if you could stop it." She says with slight laughter.
Just before her lower half fully disappeared I crank up my speed to the max.
Swinging my staff overhead of where she just had been but it didn't connect.
I send my altitudeingk the staff causing an explosion of aura from the bottom of my it revealing her position this time her being unconscious.
"Too much power in that one Kayui." I mutter launching myself up in the air once again.
I look in the crowd of battles for my brother seeking some sort of approval before someone else can reach me.
"Looking for me?"
In an instant, thousands of needle like sensations shoot into my back and I fly towards the ground.
The pain stops quickly before I hit the ground and I recover. On high alert I take in my surroundings once more.
"Right here!"
I duck low to the ground and sweep my leg in the space behind me, but to no avail as the culprit to the attack, Makil, leaps over it with what looks like a ball of pure wind in his hand.
He attacks once again attempting to slam the orb into my face.
I dodge and the attack slams into the ground next to me destroying it and blowing me backwards.
Before I could recover two large arms wrap around my waist and strong wind blinds me.
The wind stops and I look to see everything from far far above. The air extremely thin restricts my breathing before I begin to fall faster the a I had arisen.
Just before impact more wind swooped me up and dropped me from a short distance.
"What're you doing you imbecile! Trying to kill my little brother? How about I kill you, you freak."
I attempt to catch my breath again this time with success. Still shaken I flee to the edge of the sector and try to calm myself.
I analyze the area and most of the original participates are already out of the match.
"I must be pretty strong to make it this far." I think to myself.
I rush back into combat and I find a contestant completely off guard.
"Hey!" I yell before I take out his legs with a small blast to his leg. Before he could hit the ground I grab him and try to throw him out the arena.
I feel his weight release from my shoulders but I don't see him.
"Teleportation?"
Suddenly my feet leave the ground and the ground rushes towards me as something slams my body downwards.
I hit the ground hard knocking all the air out of my body.
A strong grip takes hold of what's left of my shirt tosses me before I could react, after a long way down, I hit the ground once again and everything goes black.
[A few minutes later]
"Yeah they definitely were targeting him," A soft voice says as I wake up to the blinding sun.
"Oh look he's awake,"
I find myself on empty metal bleachers behind our school.
"What happened?" I ask, everything still a little blurry.
"Your brother won, in simple terms. You need rest, they patched you up but they didn't get everything." Kenko says blatantly but with concern.
Taz and Modoru shake their head with agreement.
"It's only been a little while the tournament just ended everyone is still there." Modoru explains looking at the large stadium about a few acres away from us.
"I think I wanna go home" I say struggling to stand up.
"Yeah smart," Kenko replies helping me off the bleachers.
[A few weeks later]
"Yo Kayui check this out." A voice shouts from above me.
"Makil? I thought you were on a special ops job?" I say slightly surprised.
"Got done early this time, regardless look at this. You feel the altitude radiating off this thing?"
He holds out a small jewel like circle with a small chain attached to it. The yellowish orb pulsates with an unfathomable amount of energy.
"I can't get it to do anything though, found it in a weird forest. You wanna have it? No cost it's all yours."
He tosses it at me and it quickly shifts colors from yellow to grey in the air. In surprise I barely catch the odd orb and it turns a light purple in my hands.
Before I could try anything with my new toy everything freezes around me and slowly fades into darkness.
