"This school year flew by didn't it?" I said. "Yeah for you since u started in 8th grade," Modoru replied.
"It's been a long year for us," said Taz in the passenger seat. "Why are we driving we can get there way faster on feet. I hate riding in the back anyway,"
"Calm down, relax we're not in a rush," said Modoru. "Yeah cool it, we'll be fine."
A few minutes later we arrive at a beach. "Try and have some fun Kayui we're not training."
So I try and have fun soaring over the waves and playing football in the sand. It's fun but the feeling of me not getting stronger sigh my free time is nagging me.
In our household, with all my brothers the only thing I cared about was getting stronger. That was my fun.
[A few hours later]
"Alright guys I'm out I gotta meet with Kenko" I yell running off the beach before jumping into the city while putting on a shirt.
"You ready?" I said sneaking up behind Kenko. "Been ready for a while now," she replied without looking at me.
"We going somewhere special," I told her. "Try and keep up"
I fly by and she follows.
[A few minutes later]
"Even at night this place is still pitch black," I thought to myself arriving at the Tower once again.
"Here we are," I said aloud as Kenko caught up. "The Tower of Fulgur"
I assume Kenko was too exhausted to even notice our surroundings because she did not react. Instead, she collapsed where she stopped.
This time I came prepared with supplies so I set up camp and let her rest in the starting room.
"You'll need full energy for this one," I said to her whilst she was still asleep.
Then, I too lay down for the night getting as much rest as possible.
[The next day]
We woke up and I gave Kenko the gist of what I knew about the tower before going in.
"The training will pay off trust me. Especially with that new ability of yours" I said as we went in.
"Yeah I hope so with the way you described it, I'm not so sure" She replied right behind me.
I sat back and let Kenko train her hand-to-hand on the first 10 floors before stepping in to help.
"You feeling it yet?" I asked her. "The air is getting thicker".
"I'm feeling stronger than anything, to be honest." She replied enthusiastically. "We'll see how long that lasts"
This time I should be able to defeat that creature on my own with relative ease. Last time he had me beat in almost every way. I just had more technical ability.
This time there's no comparison so I'll let Kenko handle it. Even the air feels lighter when I move now. I'm not even tired in the slightest.
"We're here" Before I even noticed we made it to the 15th floor. "This one's all you. I'll assist as needed"
"This'll be a piece of cake watch," She said entering the door with confidence.
Almost as soon as we got in it attacked. Kenko dodged barely but she had it in speed.
I'm afraid if she gets hit the battle will be over though. She rushes at the creature while taking out the weak minions and evading all its attacks before stabbing it with a small dagger.
This dagger was special. It absorbs altitude. These kinds of daggers don't do much for me but with her they do wonders.
She barely pierces the thick scales but the mister is visibly slowed to a crawl compared to Kenko.
Then the blade turns from a pale yellow to a deep red. "Here's something I've been working on" she yells as she begins to attack.
She again barely pokes the eel but it pierces before multiple lightning sentries grab on to her pulling her down.
The eel lets out a deafening screech and Kenko frees herself from the grasp of the mob.
She flies in for a final attack while the eel is paralyzed on the ground and this time the dagger slides right through the scales to my shock.
As all the sentries dissipate the unseen speaker sounds "Proceed to the next floor."
