"That was great," I said to Kenko as we walked towards the doors to the checkpoint room.
"I told you I had it a piece of cake," she said. "Only because of my training. At the beginning of this summer ut would've squished you like a bug" I said back arrogantly.
"I would've done better than you and Modoru at least, so that's what matters to me," she said as we entered the room.
It was way more packed this time around. "C'mon I don't think we need any rest to be honest," I said to her, but she had already run off to the shop and I followed.
"Some of our most useful items are tonics but they get pretty expensive I'm afraid." The clerk said to the person ahead of us.
[A few minutes later]
"So now we have no money and a tiny bottle of something you could have made on your own," I said irritably.
"It seemed cool though, and who knows it might prove handy" she shot back trying to persuade me as we walked through the doors.
"It doesn't matter now get on guard." The scenery here was similar but different from the lower levels.
It was the same size as the floors before the boss level. Smaller but it had walls lining that room. The walls are engraved in blue with incantations.
"Stand your ground, be careful, and expect the unexpected," I said to myself and Kenko.
"Why hasn't anything attacked yet?" Kenko whispers. "They like the element of surprise here. Too bad that won't work on me." I said as we slowly crept forward.
A wall in front of us explodes into shrapnel forcing us back to the left near another wall. "You hit?" I let out before being grabbed by a hand and pulled into the wall.
Before I knew it I was hanging onto a large silloute of electricity of what seemed to be a man on the ceiling of this room.
No idea where Kenko was I tried to pull it down but my entire body was more than numb. I couldn't feel a thing.
Even my vision was blurred. Suddenly pressure engulfs my face and transfers to my back.
As my senses return a whirlwind of pain hits me like a truck. Before I can respond suddenly a mass darkness is rushing towards me.
I dodge quickly and the behemoth drops beside me.
It grabs a chunk of rock the size of a car from a wall and tosses it at me. I kick it breaking it into pieces and making a smoke screen.
I began to charge up the aura in my hand to stun the beast so I could deliver a lethal strike. Before I could let it off a hand the size of a bear grabbed onto my face.
The room was extremely silent. The sound of the impact of its fist connecting with my stomach filled that empty void.
It did some internal damage. I crash into another wall but this time I fly directly through it.
Fighting through the pain I call out for Kenko. "I'm right here" a small voice calls out from behind a rock.
I rush over to her. "I think there's two of them," she said. "And they use those blue walls as gates. That's why those aren't destroyed yet. One of them is still inside so destroy both and we'll just have to deal with one"
She continued to explain the game plan to me while healing the both of us to the best of her ability, which was pretty good.
I shoot from the wall and fire a small beam at the giant. "As I thought no damage" I shouted out. Kenko came out next from behind stabbing it with the red dagger.
I blitz out of sight and destroy both gates with one long-lasting beam.
"Here" I yell out and the dagger comes flying at me as I fall towards it. With all the might I could muster I slam it into the back of its head.
The skyscraper falls to the ground with a thud.
"Proceed to the next floor."
