Author's POV
The dinner was a quiet affair that day; Khushi and Aviraj were not present because Aviraj had been outside since the previous incident occurred, and Khushi had no energy left to face any family members. Before leaving, Aviraj makes it clear to everyone that no one will say anything to Khushi's family or anyone else, because Purohit Ji will be here tomorrow. He wants everyone to act normally. Meera was heading to her room after dinner, but as she passed Anasuya's room, she heard Ghungroo's voice. A line appeared on her forehead. She approached the door and kept her hand on it, and it opened without a push or a key. This never happens. If this room has been locked for years and the keys are with Rajbeer and Aviraj, how can this door open by itself?
She pressed her shaking hand against her heart and moved inside. The singing sound replaced the ghungroo sound. Meera recognizes this voice; she remembers Anu Di singing the same song in this house. Meera's breath became uneven as she struggled to breathe. She kept her hands on her ears to muffle the sound, but with singing, where was the ghungroo's voice? She closed her eyes tightly and shook her head, and then she felt someone touch her shoulder. She was about to yell, but a hand covered her mouth. She opened her eyes and saw Rajbeer there. He was looking for Meera and spotted her in this room. He looked at her and noticed tears in her eyes. She shook slightly. He felt bad seeing her in this way and stated,
"What has happened, Meera? What are you doing here, and you appear to be scared?" Meera traced her tongue across her lips and replied,
"Door... the door opened itself; when I come, I hear sounds like Di's singing and all." Rajbeer put his arm around her shoulders and declared
"You open the door, Meera; look, the key is there." Meera examined the keyhole and discovered keys attached there. Shaking her head, she explained:
"I don't; trust me, I swear." Rajbeer nodded and replied.
"I think you're tired, Meera. Come; let us rest for a while. Purohit ji will be here tomorrow; the ceremony must be performed now that all of the guests have arrived." Meera left after taking one last look at the room, but her heart was not at ease. She feels as if something is weird, like seeing her sister there. Her father had told her that if she died without fulfilling her wish, she would remain on earth in the form of a ghost, but what if all of this is true, or is she just over thinking it? She slept; putting her thoughts aside, unaware that all her doubts would be answered soon.
Next day
The preparation was in full swing, but the one thing that was lacking in the whole preparation was the fun and happiness because everyone's mood was spoiled after tomorrow. On top of that, Adriti and Khushi's family were there, but Khushi was missing Abhijeet, and he hasn't come there yet. Yesterday, no one was in a good mood, so the Bakshi family and Adriti were in the hotel, and they don't know anything. Today morning, they came there to meet the whole
