Aviraj Singh Rathore's POV
(Nearly a week later.)
I was sitting on my bed, looking at Khushi's picture, feeling lonely and wishing she were still with me. Memories of our time together flooded my mind, causing me to miss her even more. It's been a week since I saw her, and I still feel empty without her. The door swung open abruptly, and Adarsh and Ayaan entered the room, both wearing concerned expressions. Adarsh looked at me and asked, concerned.
"You look like you are going to cry." Ayaan sat on the couch in front of me and began eating his popcorn while looking at me. I rolled my eyes and told Adarsh,
"Nothing likes that; by the way, when is mom going to return home?" Adarsh smirked but did not say anything; he simply lay on the bed in front of me on his elbow and said:
"I never thought you were going to miss mom so much." He said this in a teasing tone, closing his eyes and sighing with relief. I ignored him and inquired.
"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be in the office?" He sighs, rises from the bed, and says,
"Dad had some important work; that's why I'm here." He looked at Ayaan as he said this.
"Let's go, Ayaan, before Bhai kicks us out of his room." After saying this, Adarsh left, and Ayaan looked at me and got up from the couch while saying
"Everyone's busy, Bhai. Bua wants us all to join them for dinner tonight at their new house. So just pray that you can get home early."
"Khushi," I murmur, closing my eyes and resting my head against the headboard. I feel a hand gently massaging my head. I lean forward, inhaling the familiar scent of roses and sandalwood. I turn my face to the left; lightly rub my nose against the soft surface, and murmur.
"I missed you so much." I hear a soft chuckle, and with a light tuck, she pulls my head slightly back and says, looking into my eyes.
"That I get to know by your four missed calls and seventeen plus texts." She rolls her eyes at me, crosses her hand in front of her chest, and moves back, saying it irritatingly.
"Because of you, Mom sent me home and told me to go before you arrived and took me from there. You understand how embarrassing it was for me. Mom was with Choti Mom, Bua Ji, Sanjh, and Sanyukta. Every time my phone beeps, they give me a teasing look." She turns away and heads towards the wardrobe. I follow her and, holding her hand, turn her to face me and say,
"You should not be embarrassed about it; instead, you should be proud that your husband cares for you. Now, how is your leg? Are you eating anything?" She pressed her lips together and complained.
"Not again." She attempted to move away from me, but I tightened my grip and said,
"You don't eat anything, correct? Neither do you take your medications. If you continue to behave this way, I will not allow you to go your house. Now go freshen up while I prepare something for you." She glared at me and said,
"You can't do that; I miss my home." I kiss her lips and murmur.
"I miss my home too." She looks into my eyes while her cheeks turn red and stammer.
