"Did you just..." I said, staring at Ed. He blushed.

"Sorry, love. I got a bit carried away." Ed said. "Was that something I shouldn't have done?" He looked a little hurt and embarrassed at the same time. I quickly felt guilty.

I liked Ed. A lot. The kiss only surprised me, for I thought he and I were... Just friends. Part of me wanted him to kiss me again.

"No. Really, I liked that. You just surprised me." I said, grinning. Ed blushed.

"Oh. Okay then." He said, still looking embarrassed. I turned my body back to the TV.

"We are getting to my favorite part of the movie. You have to see this." I said, excitedly, and trying to change the subject. I hit play on the remote and sat back, watching the movie.

Soon, I noticed Ed start to shift away from me. Don't go. Before I could stop myself, I leaned towards him and laid my head on his shoulder. Then I held his hand in mine. Ed flinched in surprise.

"What are you doing?" He asked. I was about to reply, when he lifted my hand and gave it a kiss. I grinned. "This is a surprise." Ed whispered. I giggled.

"Sorry. I'm awkward." I mumbled, trying to hide my grin. Ed laid his own head on mine and that was that. We watched the rest of the movie like that.

Once it was over, I sat up and let go of Ed's hand. Ed leaned away from me and just stared at me. "What?" I said, after a moment. He shrugged and stood up. Then he looked at the time on his phone.

"My gig starts in twenty minutes." He said. I stood up quickly.

"Oh right! You're playing your show here tonight!" I exclaimed. I grabbed his hand and dragged him downstairs. Anthony was getting drinks for a few men at the bar. He glared at me when he saw me.

"You were supposed to be working tonight Reggie." He snapped. I rolled my eyes and threw on an apron as Ed headed over to the stage. A few girls were sitting at a table near it. When they saw Ed, they screamed. I sighed and went behind the bar.

"I'm here now. So I will work." I snapped at Anthony. He continued to glare, but said nothing. A man at the end of the bar waved me over.

When I approached him, he asked "Are you that Sheeran kid's new bird?" He raised an eyebrow. I shook my head.

"No, sir. Ed is just one of my best mates." I said. The man nodded. Then he ordered his drink and I got it for him.

Soon, Ed was on the stage, sitting on a stool with his guitar. He wasn't wearing his glasses. Ed had told me he only needed them to read and that he wasn't as cute with them on. To that statement, I rolled my eyes. I thought he was adorable.

"All right?" He asked his few fans. They screamed again and I rolled my eyes. "Okay well let's start the show then!" Ed exclaimed, to which, once again, the girls screamed.

Ed started playing his guitar. Then he started singing. "This is the start of something beautiful. This is the start of something new." He looked over at me, from the stage. "You are the one who'd make me lose it all." Is he singing to me? "You are the start of something new." I blushed.

"Is it my imagination or is that boy singing to you?" The man asked. I glanced at him and Ed continued to sing.

"I am not sure. But he could be." I said.

"Thought you said you wasn't his bird."

"I'm not."

"Then why'd he be singing to ya?"

"I don't know, sir."

"I'd say he fancies you." David interuppted from behind me. I turned at stared at him.

"Really, David? Really?" I said, annoyed. David shrugged and went back to cleaning out a glass. I snorted and looked back at the man.

"And take me back. Take me home." Ed sang. "Watch me fall down to earth." I watched him, listening to his beautiful voice. Like liquid gold...

When the song ended, Ed laughed. "I've always fancied the words of that song." He said. I rolled my eyes. The man who I had been talking to, set some pounds on the counter and got up.

"Thank you." He said.

"Its okay." I replied as he walked to the door. Ed played a few notes on his guitar and looked at the crowd.

"What next?"

~time lapse~

"I best be getting back to Michael's place." Ed said. It was after his show, close to midnight now. I frowned.

"When can I see you again?" I asked. Ed shrugged.

"I'm doing another show tomorrow night at another pub, if you'd want to come and watch." He said. I shook my head.

"I've got to work..." I muttered. Ed frowned.

"I'll text you, then." He replied. Then he took his guitar and walked away slowly.

Ed had a few offers that night to go to different towns to preform. All of which, he had turned down. He claimed he liked playing in London. Frankly, I believed it was because of me that he wouldn't go.

Now, one man offered to pay him quite a lot to play at his daughter's wedding back in Farmlingham. Ed, being a sweetheart, couldn't refuse.

He would be gone for two weeks. Not only for the wedding, but also to visit family. His grandma, whom I had met before, was having a few of Ed's family members over, so Ed would go to visit them.

And me? I'd be left here. Typical.

"I'll miss you!" I called after him. He didn't reply. I sighed and headed upstairs to the apartment. Craig was drinking and playing on his computer as I walked by his room.

When I reached my room, I crawled into my bed. Two weeks without my best friend. I can do this. Right? I asked myself. Right.

I flicked off the bedroom light and sighed. Its gonna be a long two weeks...
