"Ace? Can you hear me?" My eyes flutter open. My head is pounding. Everything is blurry, and spinning. My ears are ringing. I look towards the driver's seat. Logan groans, pitching the bridge of his nose. "Ace? Are you all right?"

I nod and place my fingers on my lower belly. I can feel Lori kicking at them. That's what I want to name our child if we have a baby girl. I haven't told anyone yet, not even Logan. I don't know anything about our child's assigned gender. But I do realize that they will be spoiled. "Are you alright?" I view a discreet smile. I'll regard that as confirmation.

"Someone please help us!" My free hand stumbles for a cell phone. When I find it, I dial 911. There's not much else I can do. I roll down my window.

"911. My name is Kirsten. What is the nature of your emergency?"

"My fiancee and I were on our way home. We got into a wreck. His car hit a tree. I'm pregnant. Please hurry."

"How far along are you?"

"Three months. I could feel her kicking a few minutes ago. Now I can't."

"Can you give me the area address? Or landmarks?"

I try to look around to give a location. But pain radiates down my legs. "I don't know where we are." I begin to softly whimper. Tears build in the rims of my eyes.

"It's going to be just fine. Take some deep breaths. I'm tracing your location and sending an ambulance as a precaution. Is anyone hurt?" Relief engulfs me. A smile spreads.

"I-I'm not sure."

A palm is put on my shoulder. I jump and yelp. Pain shoots through my spine. Every sound is an echo. "Rory?" Wait, that voice sounds familiar. I know it somehow. But how? And what's going on?

I let out a groan before wiping my tears. "Tristan?"
