Previously on Always Ace:

4 months later

"Push, Ace!" I scream as he counts.  "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!" it's one o'clock in the morning. I am completely exhausted and have been in labor for four hours. Just as I'm about to give up, we hear wails.

"Oh! There's our girl!"

Logan kisses my head. He follows as the doctor whisks Lori to weigh and wash the fluids off the newborn. I can see him whisper to her and she stops wailing.

Logan's perspective

As I hear Lori's first plea, I place my hand on her feet. Afterward, she stops crying. "Shhh. Daddy's here. Hello, baby girl."

I place Lori on Ace's bare chest. My little girl slowly snuggles her head right into the crease of my wife's neck.

"I've been thinking." I sigh. "Because of everything that happened between my father and I, I don't want my daughter to have their last name at all. You didn't because you are trying to make your independent way. I think she should be a Gilmore girl, too."

"Logan, you are not your father, and you're our daughter's father."

"Rory, I don't want them anywhere near our daughter, our children, or anything we create. I want them as far  away as possible. Because of everything, I would like to take your name for anything we build."

"Okay."

"My girls."

"We love you."

"I love you both so much more than you will ever know."

"Say, forever, Daddy."

I watch my child suck her thumb and I smile. "Lorelei Honor Gilmore." There's a knock at the door. I pick up my daughter, follow the sound and ajar the thick wooden door. I see a bright smile looking up at me.

"Hey."

"Honor. Hey!" Lori fusses. I shush her as I bounce her in my arms slightly.

"Can I come in?"

"Yes, absolutely." I smile. "This is Lori." I bend down to my knees.

"Hi, baby girl," Honor whispers in excitement. "Can I hold her?"

"Yes," Rory says. "You can hold your namesake."

"You named her after me?"

"Honor, meet Lorelei Honor Gilmore." I slide our newborn into my sister's arms.

When I stand, I notice her sitting in a wheelchair. "That's something I didn't expect. Are you okay?"

"I'm happy to be here, to see this beautiful little girl. I got an MRI. My brain injury is worse than they anticipated. These wheels are my legs."
