chaeryeong pov.

I have a crush on this girl. She goes by Shin Ryujin, the powerhouse of my school since she's a main attraction.

I'm talking about extracurriculars, popularity, and friends; she has it all, but she's a crazy one.

My nerves tensed when I first looked at her. I was the quiet outcast, and I was far from having anything with her compared to the girls that surrounded her. Yet, I gradually disregarded it ever since she came up to talk to me, which was too good to be true.

Others wouldn't accept it, but we built a strong enough bond to begin a talking stage. I wasn't so certain if she was just the flirty type with everyone, but she made my heart skip beats within each action and made me wonder if she was acknowledging the tension, too.

I couldn't believe it, but damn right, I caught feelings for her like everybody else. What set me apart was that I was closer to her.

The last three years of high school, I was a nobody, and this was my chance to turn it around. So, my mindset flipped, and I only circled around Ryujin.

It lasted for a month or two before I finally asked her if she wanted to date.

That day, she was hesitant and accepted anyway.

So then, we became girlfriend-girlfriend, and I've changed a whole lot.

On March 6, the spring dance tickets were released, and I still haven't confronted my girlfriend about it. It's Monday, and Friday is the dance.

This was big news to me since I dreamed of a date like this with her, so today is going to be the day I ask her about it.

The bell rings, and I'm off to meet up with my girlfriend from her class. I arrive to the calculus room, waiting for her to appear because at first glance, she wasn't even there like usual.

I begin to process the possibility of her leaving without me, so growing overwhelmed, I investigate myself and enter just to check. It's not even a surprise when I witness her friendly-ass talking to another girl.

"Ryujin?"

"Yeah?" I throw my folder into my bag as my attention also hangs onto the voice. I hear footsteps stop beside me and turn to them, only for a smile to grow on my face. "Oh, Yeji. What did you need?"

"Nothing, nothing... I was just wondering..."

"Wondering, huh?" I sense her anxiety and resist widening my grin.

Hwang Yeji, the feline-like girl in front of me, is my classmate, and I see her in this brief period.

What's up with her is, I can't keep my eyes off of hers, and I wish I could converse with her more because she's absolutely daring and stunning.

"If you have someone for the dance."

"Oh, you want me for the dance? Is that what you're saying?"

"Maybe," she coos, ducking her chin shyly.

"You know, I was planning to ask my girl, but she's a li'l boring. You should come with me and my friends, and at one point, we can be alone, dance, and shit."

"Oh, yeah? That'll be great... I've already paid for my ticket."

"I'll buy mine today and pick you up on Friday. You got a ride?"

"No, no. You should swing by before, though," the girl orders with a hint of flirtation, squeezing Ryujin's tight forearm.
