*Brooklyn's POV*
*A week later*
I stretch as I wake, my body yelling at me for doing so. I groan, shoving my face into the pillow. Ghost had been training with me for the past week, every day without fail, and my body is screaming at me.
Every ounce of me is sore, the treacherous act of being thrown like a rag doll not doing well for me. Despite being thrown around by his strength for majority of every night, I have been improving and learning. He just makes an effort to give me a reality check, and not get too cocky with myself.
I push myself up, slowly and painfully, then change to greet the rest of the base. I pull up my pants, tightening and securing my belt, before heading out. My wardrobe has completely shifted to that of what the others wear, and away from the causal clothes allowed in my undercover work.
I wasn't told to make the change, but I enjoy fitting in more with the others, and feeling like I truly belong here with them. I head towards the main room, grabbing food and sliding onto the bench next to Milo.
"Good morning, Sunshine," he jokes, already finished with his breakfast. "Yeah yeah, once I have something to get up for, I'll be awake before you."
He laughs, taking a sip of his coffee. "So what's the plan for today?" He asks. I shrug, taking a bite of my food. I glance up as footsteps enter the area, spotting Ghost. I smile slightly as we make eye contact, him grabbing food and heading back to his room.
"How's it going with him?" Milo pushes, a teasing tone in his voice. I look towards him, sending him a playful glare, "how's you and Millie?" I tease back. He rolls his eyes, smiling as he takes another sip.
During the past week, Milo has become my closest friend, my rock in this base. He decided to share with me some personal stuff about him and a girl back home, who is in constant contact with him.
He told me everything about her, from her looks, to her hobbies and even her favorite snacks. He states once he gets out of here, they are going to get married. I, however, made the mistake of telling him that I found my LT to be a bit more than attractive.
Since then, he has been acting almost like my personal wing man, and wants to know every little thing that happens. Despite absolutely nothing happening, and me stating I wouldn't let anything happen due to professionalism, he continues to push to try and make it a thing.
I take another bite of food, my mind wandering to the man I shouldn't be thinking about. "You're training again tonight?" He asks, breaking the silence.
I huff, "we train every night, as you know." He hums, "well how about you make a move? It's always just you two in there. Maybe he feels the same!" I turn towards him quickly as his voice gets slightly louder, "shh!" I hiss.
He gives me a sheepish grin and settles down. "I've told you, nothing is ever going to happen. I can't risk this job for something so silly. Besides, look at him, that man is so self secluded, I don't think he even dreams about girls or any of that cheesy stuff."
Milo laughs at this, causing me to laugh slightly. "Hey, you never-"
"Brooke," a voice calls out. My head perks up as I turn, eyes landing on Price. He motions me over, and I stand quickly, following him to his office.
