*Brooklyn's POV*

I hide my face against my knee as Milo regains his composure, face full of surprise and satisfaction. "So are you guys a thing?"

I tilt my head back and forth, thinking of how to answer, "technically, haven't really talked about titles."

He huffs, leaning back in his chair, "I knew it."

"No you did not," I laugh. He laughs as well, "I did too, I saw it coming a mile away."

I roll my eyes, shifting slightly as Kylo rest his head on my lap. "He's a cuddle bug ain't he," Milo remarks, eyes on the large dog beside me.

I scoff, "an attention whore for sure."

I smile down at the fluffy being in my lap, completely happy he's mine. "So what do I gotta do with him while you're gone."

I shrug, "feed him, water him, walk him, pet him," I ramble on. "At this point, make me a list."

I send him a playful glare, getting a laugh in response. "It shouldn't be more than two, maybe three days," I tell him.

"And you guys are staying in a safe house?"

I nod. "And, are you sharing a room?"

I blush slightly as I nod again, Milo wiggling his eyebrow. "Oh don't do that," I say dramatically, "he's been staying in my room almost every night, nothing new."

His eyes widen, "oh so you're totally dating."

We continue to ramble on about whatever comes to mind, Ghost later appearing in the doorway. He knocks on the frame to make his presence known, our conversation dying down.

"Hey," I greet, getting a little nod in return. "Sir," Milo greets respectfully. "Rook," Ghost replies, turning back towards me.

"We uh, have some mission things to discuss, if you have time."

"Right," I say, standing from the couch and whistling for Kylo to follow. "I'll see you before you leave tomorrow," Milo tells me, standing as well. I turn back towards him, blocking him from Ghost's view, and getting a playful wink, along with a mouthed 'have fun'.

I resist the urge to shove him, instead rolling my eyes and following Ghost down the hall.

He opens the bedroom door for me, following behind me as we settle in for the night.

I trace his chest as he runs his fingers through my hair, the room dark, Kylo snoring softly beside the bed.

"So, you and Rook," he starts after a few minutes of quiet. I just hum. "Does he know?"

I laugh softly, nodding against him. He hums, "how much does he know?"

I glance up towards him, feeling him look down towards me, "just enough," I whisper. I feel his nose rub against mine, my heart jumping the way it always does when he takes off his mask.

I may not know what it looks like underneath, but the fact he feels comfortable to take it off in the dark, not knowing what could happen at any moment, causes my stomach to fill with butterflies.

"And what does he think?"

"What? About us?"

He nods in response. "He's rooting for it," I laugh, burrowing back down into his chest. I feel him laugh softly, hand rubbing my back.

"He seems like a good person," he says, the tiredness starting to fill his voice. "You wouldn't like him, too much like Soap," I joke. "Bloody MacTavish," he plays into it, faking annoyance.
