One year later,It was the last day of school before they all departed off into their own colleges. Ellie busied herself by signing her classmates shirts and getting them to sign hers, a smile electrified onto her face.
"Byeol Ellie." A sweet sounding voice perked up from behind her, the seventeen year old girl turned around to see a student from two years below hers, "I wanted to confess my feelings for you since it's your last day" he mentioned and Ellie couldn't help but giggle.
"Okay." She encouraged the boy to proceed, preparing herself to hear the younger's speech.
"I just wanted to say that your very pretty and I have had a crush on you for a little while now and that I wish you the best of luck in college" he spoke with a proud smile and puffed out chest.
Ellie cooed and covered her smile with her hand, "thank you, that's very sweet. What is your name?" She asked as she handed the marker she was using back to its owner.
"Lee Jungwon!" He happily answered, making Ellie's face drop and a tint of guilt and sorrow appearing in her eyes. She tried to smile again, but was far too hurt to show a true genuine one.
"Jungwon? That's my boyfriend's name." She chuckled before thanking the boy for his confession and respectfully bowed before walking away. She looked up at the sky and couldn't help but feel sad that he wasn't here to graduate with her.
He could no longer fulfil his dream of becoming a taekwondo instructor. "Happy graduation, Yang Jungwon" she smiled.
✰
Ellie walked along the familiar path before a smile lighted up on her face at the sight of the same wooden bridge. She stepped onto it and remember Jungwon's words "you can come here if I'm not around to comfort you"
She sweetly smiled to herself and pulled out a single red rose from the bunch she had bought, crouching down to rest the collection of roses on the bridge before standing back up. She placed a delicate kiss on the singular rose and dropped it into the calm running river.
She watched it drift away, a grieved smile washed along her face. "You're with the stars now and you can see them up closer than ever before. I'll watch them with you tonight as a way to celebrate our graduation." She smiled and let the hot tears roam down her face. "I'll let you rest now, my love. Sweet dreams"
✰
Two years later,"Drink! Drink! Drink!" The group of college students cheered as they watched Kazuah chug down three more alcoholic shots - her then drunkenly coming down to rest her head on Ellie's shoulder.
A red tinge glowed on Ellie's cheeks. "How is your book coming along?" Kazuah slurred out, still having genuine interest.
Ellie shrugged and pursued her lips. "It's almost completely." She responded. "I'll finish it when I get home." She stated and looked along the table at her group of friends - happy to have met them.
Once everyone had wrapped up the night and bid their goodbyes. Ellie reached her apartment and immediately went to her office room, opening her laptop up.
She sat comfortably down in her office chair and gulped down a glass of water she had retrieved before hand.
She stared at her book, the book she had written about her first love and her troubles throughout teen hood. She will forever remember Jungwon, and wanted other people to do so too.
She clicked onto the last page and pressed the italic front before writing the words,
The end.
