Vampire Aves...
The next morning*
Katherine woke up alone in the room, she took her bath and changed into fresh clothes before heading down.
"That should go up there" she saw Uriel directing the maids that were hanging up decorations.
"Oh,Katie you are up, breakfast is on the table- move that away" Uriel said talking to another maid "This is quite stressful" she sighed and Katherine smiled.
"Go on, go eat breakfast then you and Isa can go pick the berries for the pie" she said and Katie nodded "Alright".
She moved towards the dining table to see Alex sitting and eating, looking more moody than usual "Good morning" Katie said and sat next to him and he only hummed in response.
"Are you alright?" Katie asked as the maid served her food .
Alex only said nothing his expression not changing "Are you alright?" She asked again and he only looked at her before looking away.
"Alright" Katie said and started eating after mumbling a small 'thank you' to the maid she stared at him while she ate.
"Is it because your cousins are coming over?" Katherine asked "There will be a lot of people here tomorrow, I do not think Liam will have the time to bother you" she added and he just scoffed not saying anything.
She did not say anything after that,They ate in silence.
Katherine left Alex at the table after Isabella came to call her.
They left the mansion into the forest to pick the berries and Katherine saw very big and fresh ones that grew in another shrub and Katherine picked one only to be stopped by Isabella that shrieked.
"What happened?!" Katherine yelled in slight fear "Do o not pick those berries" she said
"Why not" Katherine asked "They are poisonous, they were planted by witches during the time of the war"
she explained and Katherine mouth shaped a small 'O' "it is strong enough to strip a vampire of their special abilities for a whole day" she explained further.
"They would not be able to use their powers?" Katherine asked "Yes,if they consumed it" Isabella said and Katie stared at the berries that were glowing ever so slightly.
"Why can you not just remove the shrub?" Katie asked
"it has been removed, burnt but it will just grow back,it does not cause any serious harm but it can make a vampires weaker against their opponent" Katie nodded.
"This should be enough,we should head back" Isabella got up carrying the small basket that was filled with berries.
Katie went back with Isabella to the mansion, everyone was busy in the mansion with one thing or another except Katherine..
She sat down watching the maids move from one place to another, soon Uriel came to sit next to her with a slight slump
"I think you should rest a little my lady" Katie said to Uriel "I am fine, besides there is still a lot to do" she said.
"oh,I almost forgot,come with me to try out your ball gown" Uriel said and got up.
"My ball gown?" She asked with slight confusion "Yes, I made it specially for you" Uriel said with excitement lacing in her voice.
"Come on" Katherine got up and followed her to the her (Uriel) room. She brought out a very fancy looking dress ,and Katherine gasped slightly.
"what do you think?" Uriel asked with a wide smile.
"It is beautiful" Katherine said "Glad you like it" Uriel said "I love it" Katie added
"Then try it on" Uriel said excited and Katherine took off her clothes and tried the gown "It is beautiful" Katherine said and did a small twirl before hugging Uriel
"Thank you" she said smiling again and Uriel patted her hair "You are welcome"...
"Alright, take it off now ,you will be wearing this tomorrow" she said as Katherine began taking off the dress, she put on the one she was wearing earlier
"Katie" she heard from outside of Uriel's room "that must be Alex" Uriel said and Katherine walked towards the door "thank you, again I really loved the gown" she said
"And you are welcome....again" Uriel smiled as Katherine exited the room.
"I have been looking for you" Uriel heard Alex said outside her room "I was with Isabella, and you were very moody so I do not want to talk to you" Katherine said and their voice faded as they walked away from the door.
"I am not" Alex said and Katherine huffed "I will be with Isabella untill you are willing to talk" Katherine said and Alex frowned as she climbed up the stairs leaving him downstairs.
"Ladies,am I right?" Alex heard and looked to his side to see Liam "it has been a while, cousin" Liam said with a small smile looking older and more mature than the last time Alex saw him
"Wow,you have grown so tall, you were about this height a few years back" Liam laughed and Alex stared at him still not saying a word.
"Grace, how was your trip" Alex heard his mother welcome his aunt,uncle and cousins
"it was good,thank you, how have you been?" Grace asked the two mothers exchanged pleasantries, Linda greeted Uriel too.
"Alex,go get your sister" Uriel said and Alex went up immediately followed by Liam that kept talking to him 'still annoying' he thought as he knocked on Isabella's door.
"I think they are here" he heard Katherine's voice from inside and the door opened Isabella came into view.
"oh Liam ,how have you been?" Isabella asked cheerfully, while the two had a small conversation, Alex just stared at Katherine that did not look in his direction.
"Mother wants you to come down" Alex said and left soon followed by the rest.
The evening was cheerful as the kids made conversations and their mothers too, Alex only sat down quietly his eyes never leaving Katherine that was talking with Liam.
Night came and everyone went to their rooms, Alex left for his room earlier than everybody else, Katie made her way to Alex room.
She saw him reading and she climbed on the bed and lie down looking up at the ceiling,it was silent untill....
"I am sorry" she heard Alex mumble and her eyes widened thinking she must have misheard him "I'm sorry" he said again and she stared at him like he grew another head .
"I.." he paused for a while "I did not mean to ignore you...I...I was confused about.... something" he said. "Sorry" he said again not looking at her.
" I.....am not angry,I just thought you should tell me if something was bothering you" Kathrine said still In shock she never heard Alex apologize to anyone and actually be sincere.
"Alright" he said and nothing else was said, Katie smiled as she turned over to sleep..
