In the carriage*
Katie's POV.
I sat down quietly in the carriage. Before I decided to ask Alex. "How long will it take to reach spellvania?"
"About a week" he replied and my eyes went wide "a week?!" He scrunched his nose up slightly when I yelled.
I leaned back with a small pout. We arrived at the council building later and immediately we got out I saw William and councilman Tyler standing outside.
"Good morning, lady Katherine" William greeted before turning to Alex.
"Councilman De'vera, your lateness will not be tolerated" William spoke with a frown.
"You said to get here by dawn and look what time you arrived, it is almost afternoon!" William complain.
There was no hint of remorse on Alex's face
"Uh, my apologies for the delay, there was... problems back at home" I said.
William glanced at me not saying anything anymore.
"Shall we leave?" Alex asked.
"Of course" I shared a carriage with Alex and the two councilmen also shared a carriage as we set off for the journey.
I fell asleep after sometime because of the silence. I would have preferred to travel with Tyler since he would actually speak.
I woke up after sometime. Alex was staring at me, no surprise there.
"Where are we?" I looked out the window it was almost evening. "Still in Elmore" he replied.
I sighed slumping slightly. "Tell me about spellvania Alex" I said trying to make a conversation.
"It is a town for witches" he replied simply.
I scoffed lightly looking out the window 'he is impossible'.
I will miss Isabella so much, I will be stuck with this..... stone for a long while.
"Can I ride with Tyler or William tomorrow?" I asked.
"No" he replied.
"Why not?"
"You are traveling with me" he said.
"Then talk to me!" I said
He did not reply
I am sure he can go weeks without saying a word. He has been like that since we were younger, he is worse now.
I never know what he is thinking.
I gave up with a huff looking out the window again, I could hear the galloping of the horses and the whips of the coachmen.
"About what?" I heard Alex speak.
And I turned to him. "Anything...how about I ask you somethings about yourself" I said scooting closer to him.
"Alright" he replied.
"What is your favorite thing to eat?"
"Blood" I sighed.
"Do you have a favorite color!?" I asked , I do not know those things about him he has never shown interest in anything except books.
He stared deeply into my eyes before speaking.
"Green" he muttered
"A-Alright, uhm..... What do you like to do when you are not busy"
"Read.....books" I expected that one.
