Vampire Aves...
Katherine's POV
In the forest*
I was staring in silence as Alex stroked Trevor's head,I soon started staring at the apples i picked earlier,they were very red and shiny,I was still sitting on the grass. " Katherine" I Heard and looked up "we should leave" he said and I frowned thinking ' we did not come here together,did we ?' but I only nodded leaving the basket of apples there for Trevor.
Alex walked ahead and I trailed behind him glaring at his back, " quit that" he spoke not looking back and I moved my eyes from his back to the grass " I will be taking the council exams" he said and I did not say a word "and you will help me study" he added and i stopped walking making him pause then he turned to look at me..
"Any thing the matter ?" He asked hands behind him as he took a step forward staring down at me "A slave can not help you study" I spoke bitterly reminding him of his own words " you will help me study....,you are an educated slave, Katherine" he said and I bit my inner lip harshly while he kept his blank stare i gave a tight smile and i looked down" of course" I mumbled he turned around and a tear dropped to the floor,I heaved a long sigh and followed him.' why does this affect me so much'..
*The mansion
I followed him to his room then he went out to get books from the study, "he cares not whether i am happy or sad ,why shall i be the one bothered by HIS malicious behavior".
" I longed for his arrival and when he arrives he behaves in this manner " I said pacing around the room.
" I certainly did not do anything" I said again. " It is all his fault " I said stopping to sit on the bed, staring blankly at the door..
He came in holding a pile of big books,he dropped the books on the bed and sat down " i will study this , and then you will question me" he said picking up one of the books "alright" i said and leaned back on the bed i soon fell asleep.
I woke up it was late at night,the room was empty everywhere was shut close as red liquid started to fill the room,I sat up in panic looking down at the blood filling the room,I released a shaky breath "Alex?" I called in a whisper when I heard sounds from the bathroom "Alex?" I called again louder and the door opened with a loud bang.
I shot up from my sleep breathing heavily and Alex gave me a questioning stare I looked around the room frantically there was no blood,it was a dream again i sighed in relief while Alex eyes never left me .I sat down avoided his eyes and soon he went back to reading.
There was a comfortable silence until there was a knock on the door ,I sat up staring at the door waiting for Alex to answer "what is it?" He spoke and a maid replied from the other side "apologies ,young master,..lady Katherine has a visitor" she said and my heart's pace quickened as he stared at me before asking the maid "who?"
"The young master from the Howard's mansion" she replied hurriedly "alright,you may leave" he said still staring at me as the maids footsteps faded ,i stared at my fingers ,i did not do anything wrong but it felt like i had done something.
"Will you not honor your visitor, Katherine?" He asked dragging his words leaving a huge effect on me " y-yes" I said and got up immediately to leave the room he did not say anything as I shut the door behind me ,I took a deep breath and pat down my dress with my hands as I head towards the stairs. I saw Charles talking with lady Uriel .I approached them .
"Katie" he greeted with a smile taking my hand then he brought it up to his lips to give it a light kiss ,I smiled awkwardly as he took a while before letting my hand go ,he stared behind me "oh Alex, it is nice to see you again,how have you been?" he said with a smile still holding my hand .Alex did not reply instead his eyes were fixated on our hands and I pulled my hand from Charles with an awkward chuckle.
"W-what brings you here Charles ?" I asked,Alex stood watching from behind " I thought I should pay you a visit,it as been a while" he said " oh,thank you for checking on me" I smiled " my pleasure"he smiled back "well,now that I have been blessed enough to see your face, i shall take my leave" he said saying good bye to lady Uriel and then to me.i gave a small wave as he left .
I did not dare to turn around I could feel Alex stare piercing through my head." Katie , come with me to get some fresh berries,I will be making a pie " lady Uriel spoke "of course!" I said rushing to the kitchen to get the baskets 'i am forever indebted to you, milady' I thought almost running out of the mansion.
We spent about an hour talking and picking berries,I ended up helping with the pie too ,and I also followed her to have it delivered tp one of her friend's mansion ,I was trying my best to avoid Alex until I have to sleep.
Lady Uriel and I got back to the mansion quite late. I went up to Alex room ,I opened the door slightly and peeked in he was sitting by his reading table he had his glasses on while holding a book.The room was dimly lit,I doubt i could read a book in here,but vampires have far better eyesight than humans,which made me wonder why he was wearing glasses.
"Are you planning to sleep outside?" he asked not turning to me "no" I said I came in quickly closing the doors. I walked to the bed and sat down,there was a heavy silence,i decided to go and take a shower before going to bed i came back he was still reading ,i lay in the bed staring at the ceiling with my hands resting on my stomach.
" You got acquainted with him while I was away" he suddenly spoke " uhn?" I asked dumbly "we..we are not as close as you think... I just..." I paused wondering while I felt the urge to explain myself he turned to me " you just?" He asked " nothing,I will be going to bed now , goodnight young master " I said and turned my back to him.
It took a while before I finally fell asleep waiting to be awakened by another nightmare..
End of Katie's POV
Alex stared at her ,he could hear soft breathing which confirmed she was asleep,he got up moving to the bed , he stared at the sleeping girl.
He gently took her hand in his, rubbing it lightly before placing a light kiss on it .
He left to take a shower before going to lie down next to her ready to stay awake all night yet again.
