Vampire Aves...
The next morning*
Katie's POV
I stirred in my sleep and slowly got up rubbing my eye, I sat up and blinked for a while adjusting my eyes to the brightness of the room.
I looked to my side and the bed was empty of course, Alex always got up earlier than I do, I do not think he even sleeps.
I stood up and what happened yesterday came back to me as I stretched, 'the council Academy' I mumbled "THE COUNCIL ACADEMY !" i yelled a bit and heard the neighing of a horse,
I rushed to the window,I saw lady Uriel and Isabella standing outside waving off the carriage.
I saw him stick his head out of the carriage window staring at me before sticking his head back in and I could only watch as the carriage left and went out of sight.....I stood there for a long time not knowing what to feel. He could have said goodbye...
'He is leaving for six years and he can not even say goodbye' I thought my eyes stinging with tears, I blinked them back and went into the bathroom to take my bath, I changed into fresh clothes and I stood in front of the mirror....just staring.
I was about to leave when something caught my eye, I saw a small note on the mirror table, I picked it up I recognized it as Alex's handwriting, it read,
Katie,
I will be gone for a while you will stay in my room until I come back ,
I will be leaving while you are asleep because I do not want you to feel sad saying goodbye, take good care of yourself and Trevor,untill we meet again.
Alexander.
I stared at the letter before folding it and putting it in the drawer. I walked downstairs, I saw lady Uriel and Isabella sitting in the living room in silence "good morning" I said breaking the silence.
"Katherine, how was your rest?' lady Uriel asked "it was quite good,thank you" I said with a small smile and Isabella stared at me with pursed lips.
"You should go have your breakfast" she added I nodded and left for the dining room, I sat down and Isabella joined me a few moments later.
"Aunt Grace left?" I asked once I noticed they were not here.
"They left a while after you and Alex left the ball yesterday" she said, I stared at her "you long for him" I spoke and she shook her head quickly.
"he is annoying,of course not" she said and I smiled "it is alright,you have me " I said and she smiled "of course I do".

Two people met with cloaks covering their faces "he is on his way there now,do what you must" one spoke and the other nodded ,they went different ways..
Katie's POV
Alex absence in the mansion felt odd at first but I got used to it, I spent more time with Isabella and lady Uriel and even Silvia (the maid), I wrote a letter to Alex on the second day he left with Isabella's help, lady Uriel gave it to the letterman that will have it delivered even though Alex must not have arrived at the council Academy yet.
I also went to visit Trevor frequently to bring him fruits to eat, Alex had waited years for it to hatch and he never got to spend time with it before he left.
it grew faster than I expected. I received a letter from Alex 6 months After I sent it ,he had settled into the academy.
I wrote back asking if he made any friends yet ,I had to wait another 6 months to get a reply,where he replied with no, I was not surprised. I wondered how far the academy was...
Alex had been there for over a year, I sent a letter again asking how he was and of course I got a reply 6 months later.
Isabella and I grew closer, being the one closest to my age In the mansion,she told me about her lover that Is from another realm ,they wrote letters to each other many times, it seemed like she really fancied him.
I wrote to Alex again telling him about Trevor's growth , and I waited, six months passed and I did not get a reply , seven months,eight months..
"Maybe the letter did not get to him" Isabella said and I agreed. it has been over 2 years since Alex left, 2 years since Aunt Grace and Alex cousins came to the mansion,
they have not been heard from since the incident and I felt guilty because it happened because of me.
The general ball will be held in a few days, Isabella is very excited she is finally going to meet her secret admirer and lover of the past 4 years ,I was so happy for her.
The ball was a masquerade ball, Isabella told me everyone had to wear masks to cover their faces. Lady Uriel had insisted on making a ball gown for me..
"Do you think I should shorten my hair?" I asked lady Uriel while she was braiding it, it had grown longer than before "I think it looks lovely at this length, but If you would like it shorter I could do that for you"she said looking at me.
" I will keep it" I said and she smiled ,I have known her for over four years,she still looked as beautiful as when I first saw her, another wonderful vampire trait.
I left lady Uriel's room after she finished with my hair, I went into the forest, I had taken Trevor into the deeper part to avoid being seen.
"Trevor" I called holding a basket of his favorite fruits.
"Trevor" I called again only to be tackled all of a sudden by the dragon in question.
"where did you go" I smiled as it was almost crushing me to death, noticing my struggle it got off me and I picked up the fruits "stop doing that" I warned again wiping my dress.
Trevor had grown up to my waist with very much energy, it ate the fruits and I watched it sighing.
"You should not do that when you grow older, I might pass out" I said touching his head and it purred softly,
I spent a while in the forest with Trevor then I decided to leave.
I went back to the mansion, I packed a few clothes, we were leaving for "Elvania" tomorrow,it is a part of the underworld that no creature inhabits.
It is owned by the council and it is the place where the ball will be held, the ball is in 4 days and it will take about 3 days to get to Elvania so we will start our journey tomorrow.
Isabella, lady Uriel and I were attending the ball, I could not wait, I have only seen vampires my whole life and no other creature....
