Katie's POV
After lady Uriel left to find Isabella,I stood looking around hoping to see her before she does, soon I saw her, j was ready to approach her but I saw that she was with someone, male, he had blonde hair,they were smiling and talking as they exited the building.
"That just be him" I mumbled "That must be who?" I heard and jumped a bit if this happens again I might actually die.
I put my hand on my chest breathing hard and I turned to look at who had just spoken ,the person looked familiar,he was without a mask.
"Hello,lady Katherine" he said with a smile and I finally recognized him. it was Anna's brother, Charles.
I saw him when I went to the Howard's mansion,over 2 years ago ,but what I was surprised about was how he recognized me, did the potion not work all these while? I panicked slightly.
"Hello?" I said unsure,I was trying to decide whether to act like he got the wrong person or just be normal,
" I thought you were someone else because you carried the scent of a vampire" he said " a potion?" he asked "Yes,that means it worked " I said more to myself.
"It might have worked but it is fading away now" he said " your human scent Is coming out" he added.
My eyes widened "What do I do?" I asked in panic "Do not worry, nothing will happen since I am here with you, I am guessing you came here with the De'veras" he said and I nodded.
" I heard Alex has gone to the council Academy, his stubbornness finally took him somewhere" he chuckled sipping out of the glass he was holding and I frowned a bit.
I thought every male child leaves for the council academy once they are of age "Are you not leaving for the academy?" I asked "No, I am not interested in the council" he said twirling the glass of blood in his hand.
"Alex had always been intrigued by it,he always has his nose buried in one book after the other" he said and my eyes watched the glass of blood, it brought back memories......awful memories.
"I see" i said moving my eyes from the glass to meet his eyes, i was quite sure he could not tell where I was looking because of the mask.
We continued to talk, it felt good that I was not alone especially after what I had witnessed outside earlier.

Isabella's POV
I move out of the building with Adrian,we stood outside far away from the crowd. "He is dead, so I am going to be the next Alpha, in a few months" he said.
"oh....my condolences" I said and he just smiled "How about you tell me more about yourself" He asked tilting his head.
"well.....I am 19 years old" I spoke "I have a younger brother, Alexander he is not home currently,he is 15 years old" I said thinking again.
"Where is he?" He asked "he is in the council Academy, oh! there is a girl that is just like my little sister,her name is Katherine but she is hum-" I paused.
I forgot about Kathrine! The potion might have faded! "I apologize,I must leave now" I said and I ran back inside.
I looked around, and I quickly picked up a faint human scent among all the non- human creature. she was with someone
a vampire, I walked closer "oh, Charles it is you" I said in relief
"Where is mother,we should leave now" I said trying to pick up mother's scent soon she approached.
"Lady Uriel" Charles greeted with a small smile and mother smile back asking about his parents.
We left the ball immediately into the carriage and I looked out the window,I soon spotted who I was looking for outside,and I gave a small smile as the carriage rode off, he waved.
Katie took off her mask, I had forgotten mine at the ball ,the ride back to the inn was quiet.
We arrived and ate dinner before going to our rooms. I sighed not knowing when I will be seeing Adrian again, I sat down on the bed ,but soon I changed out of my dress into a night gown.
I heard a knock on my door "come in" I said knowing it was Katherine.
She came in, she was looking quite worried and she slowly walked towards my bed while fondling with her hands.
"Are you alright?" I asked concerned she nodded and sat down on the bed.
I stared waiting for her to speak "Mind if I ask you a question?" She asked and stared up at me "of course not" I said.
"Are there creatures.....that can vanish?" She asked and I frowned a bit wondering what caused the question "vanish?" I asked
"I mean... creatures that can disappear?" she asked again, I was quiet for a while.
" no...well not any that I know of" I mumbled "oh...." she trailed
" Why are you asking?" I said "just wondering" she smiled a bit "it is quite late,I should go, have a good night rest" she said and got up not looking at me as she left closing the door.
I knew there was something she was not telling me...

Katie's POV*
I left Isabella's room and went to mine 'I did not imagine that' 'did I ?' I asked myself "Why was the person looking at me?"....
"Why did he want me to follow him outside?" I pondered on these thoughts for a long time untill I finally lay down to sleep....
we will be going back home tomorrow...
