Chapter 50

This is the last chapter before the epilogue y'all..

Katie's POV

When I woke up, I was in the room again. Isabella was sitting on the chair looking bored as she went through one of Alex's council books.

"You are awake" I heard and I finally noticed the familiar man hovering over me.

It was the physician.

Isabella was also by my side in a blink. I tried to sit up and she helped me. She smiled down at me.

"Are you alright?" She asked and I nodded once. "I am alright" I looked around for Alex he was not here.

"How long was I passed out?" I asked rubbing my head and the physician put his tools in the box.

"Almost a day" she replied.

"Well....I have good news for you" the physician finally spoke.
I looked at him expectantly Wondering what he was on about.

Without any warning...

"Lady Katherine is with child" he dropped and I did not know what happened in those minutes. I knew the doctor left and Isabella was happily blabbing about something.

"Katie? Are you alright?" She asked again, I nodded slowly.

"I knew you smelt different, I did not know it was the smell of pregnancy" she added...I can not wait to be an aunt!! I hope it is a little girl raising a boy is a handful" she continued.

I blinked once.....twice.

"I am with child..." I whispered interrupting her.

"Yes, yes you are Katie" she smiled then she held my hands in hers.

"Where is Alex?" I asked still not knowing how to react.

"He was being annoying, I asked him go out for a walk with Tristan, they should be back anytime soon"
I nodded.

She paused and continued.

"He eventually told me about what happened with Liam, he said Astella had come to avenge her mother and she left scars on his body although..."

".... they were healed before you two got home....you have no idea how worried I was I called Adrian over to search everywhere for you two" 

I smiled at her. "Thank you-"

Just then, Alex walked in with Tristan asleep, cheek leaning on his chest, he was getting better with him and it shows.

His eyes met mine he approached without a word. "Take it" he said to Isabella that glared at him and took the baby.

"I will be outside" she spoke carrying Tristan with her.  She mouthed 'Tell him' before she closed the door behind her.

I felt the bed dip when Alex sat next to me. "Are you alright?" I nodded not meeting his eyes.

"Katherine.." he called.

I bit my lip nervously staring at my hand.

I felt his hand on my chin as he raised my head up to look at him. I felt tears brimming in my eyes as I stared at him.

He had the confused look he always had when anyone cries.

"Are you.... alright?" He asked carefully.

"I-I am fine" he kissed my cheek pulling my into him. I leaned on his chest still crying..

To be honest, I do not know why I am crying... happiness? Fear? Maybe.

He held me without a word. I soon stopped crying.
