*Night
Alex POV
I have been in my room all day with Katherine teaching her about the types of creatures but she fell asleep about an hour later.
I left her to sleep until a maid came in to call us for dinner then I woke her up..
"come down to have dinner" i said.
She sat up blinking for a while she got off the bed and let out a yawn before following me out of my room.
"Where am I going to have dinner?"she asked "the table" I replied "but-" she began and I turned to look at her, giving her a questioning look.
"Alright" she mumbled as we approached the dining table.
"Oh, Katherine come sit next to me " Isabella said and Katherine stared at me, I just shrugged and sat down and she went to sit with Isabella that grinned like the odd being that she is.
"Where have you been?"mother asked watching Isabella interact with Katherine "My room" I replied.
"How come she gets to go in your room and I can not ?" Liam asked with a frown,
"She is not you" I replied shortly and Liam scoffed while Linda watched quietly.
"Should a slave be sitting at the table with us?" Aunt Grace spoke getting everyone's attention.
"Should you be coming to our house this frequently when you have yours?" I said "Alex!" Mother yelled bewildered
"Apologize now" mother added.
"I apologize....but you should mind your words" I said "Ale-" mother spoke only to be cut off by Aunt Grace.
"He is just being childish" she said giving me a tight smile and I stared back at her blankly.
The air was very tense untill the maids came over and served the food.
"You can stay in my room, I have lots of my old dresses that are your size" Isabella said to Katherine while eating.
"Alex said I will be staying in his room" Katherine whispered back and I glanced at mother that obviously heard but pretended like she did not.
"Aw, but if Alex is ever being annoying or just him, you can always come to my room it is down the corridor just the 3rd room" she said and Katherine nodded with a smile.
"I can help tie your hair into pretty styles" she added and Katherine beamed "and add flowers?" She asked "lots of flowers" Isabella said and Katherine giggled.
I stopped listening 'i will never understand females' I thought taking a sip of the blood tea, the silence was interrupted when the doors opened and father came in.
I rarely see him these days....
"Oh, brother you are back" Aunt Grace said "how was work today?" She asked "Good" father replied with a small smile.
He also sat down at the table mother did not say anything.
The maid brought the food for father we all ate quietly,we had a good relationship with father untill recently he has been acting odd, I do not know if anyone except mother noticed.
A lot goes on in the mansion that they think I do not know about.
Father was acting strange, Isabella keeps receiving notes from a bird, and I think the butler and one of the maids are in a romantic relationship.
Father only stared at Katherine not asking any questions, we all ate and I left the table with Katherine following after me.
"Alex" mother called and I stopped making Katherine stop too "yes mother?" She walked towards us,
"Why not let Katherine stay with Silvia at the servant headquarters, or one of the guest rooms" she said...
"But she is not a servant, mother " I said "Yes, but-" "-then she can stay with me" I said and she glanced at Katherine.
"Alright" mother said with a sigh "Have a good night rest ,mother" I said walking to my room with Katherine.
In my room *
"You can go to bed, I will read for a while" I said and she climbed on the bed while I sat in the chair, soon I could hear soft snores.
I read for a while and decided to lie down too, I did not sleep though, I could not, I stared at the ceiling thinking.....
Morning came quickly and I finally got up from the bed after being awake all night, I took my bath and got dressed while Katherine was still asleep.
There was a knock on my door just as Katherine woke up "Come in" Silvia came in "Good morning,young master " she greeted and I only nodded.
"I will be getting clothes from lady Isabella" Katherine mumbled as she got off the bed.
"Good morning" she said and i nodded again "Silvia" she beamed following the maid out of my room, another maid came in to tidy my room and I sent her off saying...
"I will tidy it myself" I did and left my room for my usual morning tea.
End of Alex POV
"Alex,you finally came down,let us go play while we wait for breakfast" Liam said
"No" Alex replied "why not ? Is it because of the slave?" He asked.
"No,I just do not fancy being around you" he said bluntly "But I thought we were best friends" Liam pouted.
"It is already unfortunate enough that I am related to you, we do not need to have another title other than cousins" Alex said walking away.
'I just want my morning tea' he thought.
'Everyone is annoying' he thought as he made his way out, Liam still followed him
"I heard your governess is coming over today I have not seen her in a while, do you not think she is pretty?" Liam asked
'he is always saying this' Alex thought "she is a century and a half old" he reminded.
And Liam shrugged before coming close to whisper "I think her 'melons' are very enormous" he moved back laughing and Alex glared at him.
"If you come that close to me again, i will scratch you" he said and Liam moved further away.
"You do not have to be so mean, you should try smiling sometimes"...
he said using his hand to pull his own lips wide into a 'smile' " like this" he said..
Alex sighed walking away from him.
*Later in the afternoon
The governesses arrived( governess is teachers btw) for both Alex and Isabella.
Isabella had dragged Katherine off with her to the study with the governess while Alex and Liam were taught in the other study.
Liam kept whispering talking about the governesses 'melons' and Alex soon grew tired of it.
"keep quiet" he said lowly and Liam spoke " Do not speak like you do not notice it too " Liam chuckled and Alex went back to studying.
After a while*
Liam spoke again "we should go play when we are done, every one of us and the girl too" he ended
"You stay away from her" Alex warned and Liam smirked "No,we should all be friends right?" He asked and Alex only stared at him mumbling something....
Their learning with their governesses ended and the girls were playing dress-up in Isabella's room...until Liam asked them to come play a game downstairs.
The girls agreed and Alex continuously warned Liam not to 'play' with Katherine because he was being mean....and he also did not want him near her,
The kids were called in for dinner later in the evening.
End of chapter five,
