Bold and the Beautiful Alternative Version Season 3

The island

Some time passed. Brooke and Ridge enter their home looking sad, dressed in all black.

Brooke sits on the couch and Ridge looks at her. Brooke is silent and Ridge doesn't know what to do. 

Ridge: Logan, I know what you are going though. 

Brooke nods.

Brooke: It's so hard... It doesn't even feel real. 

Ridge: We all loved Hope... She will be missed. Just like Phoebe.

Brooke: Two remarkable young women taken too soon... God, it makes no sense at all! 

Ridge: It never made sense and never will...We just have to go on for our children and grandchildren. 

Brooke: Beth will live without a mother... 

Ridge: We will take care of Beth... So will Liam.

Brooke: Liam broke down during the funeral... He lost the love of his life. Something tells me that he will suffer all of his life... Just like me. 

Ridge takes Brooke hands and kisses them. 

Next scene: Bill, Katie and Liam enter the Spencer mansion looking sad. Liam is holding Beth in his arms. 

Bill: I know nothing I'll say will make things right, but... We will be there for you and Beth.

Liam: Thank you...

Beth: Mama?

Liam starts crying.

Katie: Let me take Beth. You need rest. 

Liam hands Beth to Katie and she takes her away.

Liam sits on the couch.

Liam: Beth doesn't understand that her mother is gone... She misses her. I told her... Mommy is with the angels now... But she doesn't understand.

Bill: She's too little. 

Liam: And now she's motherless... My little Beth. 

Bill: I worry about Beth, but also about you... Let's not pretend like you didn't lose the woman you loved most of your adult life. 

Liam: I did... And to make things worse... I'm responsible. 

Bill: Stop it Liam...

Liam: Dad, if I wouldn't be such a hypocrite... And get so angry... Hope would be here right now. She wouldn't be on that flight. 

Bill: You can't see what will happen. Some things lead to other things and we can't stop it. You didn't want your wife to die... You didn't cause this.

Liam cries and Bill hugs him. 

Next scene: Thomas sits by the table in his loft. Caroline sits on the couch and looks at him.

Caroline: Douglas got so emotional... I didn't even know he loved Hope that much. 

Thomas: She was his mother.

Caroline doesn't know what to say.

Thomas: Hope was amazing to Douglas. She gave him hope, love, warmth when you were gone.

Caroline: And I will be forever grateful to her for that. 

Thomas: You should be...

Caroline looks confused.

Thomas: Hope was there for Douglas even when I wasn't mentally stable. Even when she thought that her own child is dead.

Caroline: I don't really want to talk about that dark time...
