At Starr Rink this evening, the Colgate Raiders open the 2007-08 season at home against the Sacred Heart Pioneers on the opening night of the regular season. With 12:10 left in the first period, Ben Camper scored his first goal of the season to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 11:24 left in the first period, Ethan Cox scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-0 Raiders. With 6:36 left in the first period, Reade Wolansky scored to make it 2-1 Colgate. With 6:20 left in the first period, Brian Day scored his first goal of the season to make it 3-1 Hamiltonians. Mark Dekanich and Stefan Drew matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 3-1 Raiders remains our score heading to the second period. With 10:33 left in the second period, Jesse Winchester scored his first goal of the season to make it 4-1 Colgate. With 6:18 left in the second period, Eric Giosa scored to make it 4-2 Hamiltonians. With 4:48 left in the second period, Ethan Cox scored his second goal of the season to make it 5-2 Colgate. Dekanich and Drew matched zeros for the remainder of the period so Colgate maintains their 5-2 lead heading to the second intermission. With 9:34 left in the third period, Tyler Burton scored his first goal of the season, short handed to make it 6-2 Raiders! Mark Dekanich finished off the Pioneers and Colgate opens the season with a 6-2 win! Colgate improved to 1-0-0 on the season!
