Dominic’s POV

I watched her walking out of the cafeteria. Alexandria Johnson. Everyone in the school knows about her. Badgirl, short tempered, sarcastic, prankster. I have seen her fight with jocks and bullies, pull pranks on teachers, smoke in school, party and get drunk out of mind but never talked to her untill today. I have never talked to anyone normally. It has always been my fist talking or silent treatment.

So when she started the conversation for the first time with me at principal’s office I was surprised. I mean I thought that everyone was too scared to talk to me and I was ok with it cause half of the school is filled with air heads. But it also kinda felt good to talk with her. Plus she did help me with Davidson. I know she says she didn’t but I also know she did. And how you may ask that’s cause when I entered Davidson’s office he looked angry and he mentioned about Alex and her helping me out.

I was surprised and a bit of confused too. Like why would anyone help a stranger that too one which has a bad reputation. When she told me that she isn’t scared of me I wasn’t shocked because I kind of figured that out. You see I wasn’t raised in a very good environment. My mom is a single mother who has looked after me and everything else since I was born. She is the most cheerful and positive person I have ever known. No matter how tough it is she is always smiling. My mom works day and night to earn money, to keep the roof on our head, to keep food on our plates, to pay the expenses and also for my education. She has been doing this with a smile on her face even though I know she is always tired at the end of the day. That’s the reason why I was so nervous that Davidson would expel me and make mom disappointed by that. But Alex saved me from that even though she doesn’t know it. Anyways let’s get this day over with.

It’s the last class of the day which I share with Alex. Right now I’m sitting in the back near the window and gazing outside. Alex is sitting in the seat next to mine. I was day dreaming while looking out the window so when the sir James called I didn’t hear it. It wasn’t untill I felt the kick in my foot from beside me that I was bought into reality. I looked around and saw everyone looking at me then I looked at the person who kicked me and it was Alex. She was smirking at me. Finally I looked ahead to Sir and saw him glaring. I raised my eyebrows but didn’t say anything.

“Am I boring you Mr. Russler?” James said folding his hands. I just looked at him with bored looked but didn’t say anything. That seemed to make him more angry. “Care to share what you were thinking that you can’t focus on my lesson Mr. Russler?” He said. I just rolled my eyes and kept my mouth shut. “He might be thinking to whom to send to the hospital next?” A jock, Ryker, Jerry’s friend said from the middle of the class. I looked at him with a glare and he looked scared but tried to cover it. “Oh Ryker why don’t you shut your trap, whenever you open it only garbage comes out of it.” I heard Alex say as she was leaning on the chair backwards.

“Stay out of it, Johnson. It’s none of your business.” Ryker sneered. I looked at Alex to see how she defends herself and I was not regretting it. “Yeah I know it’s not my business as it’s not yours. But since you have decided to interfere in his business then I thought why don’t I also get into your business.” She replied with a sweet smile. Ryker looked like he was gonna explode but at the same time the bell rang ending the class. I took my bag and looked beside me to see Alex already out. Shrugging I exited the class as well and went to the parking lot.

By the time I reached the parking lot it was almost empty with the exception of few cars here and there. I walked towards my truck. It’s not much but it helps and it was the only thing we could afford.

I was going to get into the truck when I saw Alex standing near the exit of the parking lot. I looked around and noticed that no one was there now. I walked towards her and put my hands in the pocket. She hasn’t noticed me so I thought about scaring her. “Waiting for someone?” She didn’t jumped like I expected her to. She just turned around and looked at me. “If you were thinking about scaring me that was the shittiest trick ever. And yes I am waiting for my friend.” She said as she kept her phone in her pocket. I just shrugged because I didn’t have anything to say to that.

“Hi can I ask you something?” She said. I smirked at her and said, “You already did.” She looked at me with an eyeroll. She looked at me for a second. “Would you like to come with us to bowling? “ She finally asked. I looked at her for a minute I wasn’t expecting that. “Are you asking me out?” I can’t keep the my shock out of my tone. She looked at me with raised eyebrow. “No I’m not. I just asked you because Amber and I were going to bowling this Friday after school and it’s on me since I lost some bet
Anyways she is bringing her so called boyfriend whom I can’t tolerate. So in short I don’t want to be a third wheeler and asked you to come. “ She explained. Of course how can she ask a guy like ne out.

I nodded and said. “Sure I’ll come. But can I bring someone with me? Well we were suppose to hangout on Friday so why not at arcade.” I asked. She shrugged and replied sure as we heard the honk of a car. I looked at the car and realized it’s Amber’s. Alex turned to me and said. “Well that’s my ride. See you later.” Then she smirked and added. “Don’t get into more trouble. I won’t be there to save you.” I rolled my eyes at her and greeted bye. I could hear her laugh and smiled to myself. I sat in my car and drove home.

When I entered my home I went into the living room for mom. Mom was asleep on the couch as always. I smiled softly and wrapped her in the blanket before going to make us dinner.
